does anyone know of any decent brake kits or just pads/rotors/calipers for a Y33 (2000 Infiniti Q45t). i'm looking to do a wheel upgrade in the future along with suspension, but i want to get some good brakes first that dont feel as mushy as the stock. i love my Q but i want the stopping power when necessary.

the best upgrade you can do is make your brakes perfect... Get some new rotors, hawk pads and SS lines and then tell me theyre not good...

Most people like the brembo blanks.. thats what I use, i like em, theyre good for the money... Probably equal quality to OEM but cheaper.

the SS lines can be had about anywhere.... I cant remember what most people get on here, but as long as its reputable it shouldnt matter... You can actually use the same SS lines on the Q as you do the 240sx

that sounds awsome, i just got new OEM rotors from the dealership like 6 months ago on the front, so i'll get some brembo on the rear. i just like how the cross drilled ones look, but its about functionality too. how are those EBAY rotors working otu for anyone. i was tempted a few months ago to get some for like $139 but decided not to. but definately going to get Hawk pads. i just want some great bite when i get new **** on there. thanks again. i'm going to try to load a different pic of my Q on here with most comments, we'll see how long that last bc i have to compress the hell out of it to get less than 500K b/c of the high res of my camera produces.

When you upgrade your wheels I'd be interested if they're the right price. [email protected]

i'm not really concerned with wheels on my car. that's really the last thing i'll do. i have speakers in my trunk that i like, so i'll get a custom install on that, springs, shocks, cold air intake, muffler (not too loud), and brakes. all that before i'd get any wheels b/c i really dont know what size i want to run. i'm going to keep my stock for the winter/rainy seasons too. cause those Euroline's are like $750 each. i'm not trying to spend more than $400 each for wheels. i want a quality wheel, silver or black.

A new set of wheels and tires will actually prob make a much larger handing/performance increase than a new set of brakes, as going that route on stock wheels and tires will limit you to, well, the stock wheels and tires...

i'm not saying that brakes is all in need. springs, shocks, AND TIRES/Wheels will help with handling. dont sit here and just to me to put some summer tires and rims on my car. i'm not stupid.

A very ADULT STATEMENT.

Actually the 97 Q and later brakes are a step up from the 90-96Q brakes thanks to improved rear rotors and more open oem wheels.

Failure to flush fluid and use a quality high temp replacement is the usual cause of fade even with oem pads.

Hawk pads suck!

All they do is make noise and eat up the rotors.

Stick with OEM pads, but upgrade the lines and most importantly, THE FLUID.

Go with a good DOT4 fluid. Get 2 bottles, one clear, and the other colored. Flush with the clear first, then flush with the colored. That way, you know you got new fluid in the system.

I bet the Z32 (300zx) brakes will bolt on the Y33.

Check out my brakes on Lola. (Click on the picture of her, to go to my Gallery. There are a lot of pictures of my brake upgrade among other things.
