Any day now we should have something official on the `09 a/c, plus trade-in values for the 08's (I'm curious to see how the depreciation affected the coupe vs the sedan).

It's been about a year now since the a/c debut,, so it's gotta be any day now,,, right?

thx

Dealer in Edmonton has guaranteed me that I'll have mine right around the middle of August. End of August at the absolute latest.

I can't wait.

How are Nissan's for depreciation anyway? Are they better than Toyota, Subaru? They have to be better than a Ford, Chev, Dodge, ect. right? I know they're not as good as those Honda's.

My sales rep has been really good. My mother dealt with the same guy when she bought her QX-56 and went out of his way for us. He's been good on promises so far.

Minor re-design to the grille, even though I'm gonna' swap it. Different Enkei stock rims, improvements to some of the ergonomics in the cabin, Nav system improved functionality...

Even if none of that happens, I still have most of my down payment on it anyway because any Altima Coupe is a sexy beast. Although... $41,000 loaded in Canada compared to 31,000 give or take in the US loaded 3.5.

Dollar at par... we Canadians get raped.

Why don't you go to the US to buy it then? That's what I'm planning to do, and what lots of other Canadians have done. Surely the $10k in savings is worth the very little extra hassle it takes to buy from the US. Plus I refuse to support local Canadian dealerships when they are price gouging us the way they are.

I don't have the money to buy it outright.

I can't get financed down there while living in Canada.

Nissan Canada wont honour the warranty, otherwise I would have made a small trip to the us and come back home with a G37. I looked into buying a vehicle from the states.

I didn't even think of that. Going to look into it tomorrow with the bank.

Exactly what LongBeachCoupe said, get a line of credit or bank loan of some sort from your bank. If you can't get one on your own, ask/beg/plead with family or friends to cosign with you That's pretty much what I'm going to do when the time comes. $10k is a LOT of savings, and it's also the principle of the matter that our own dealerships are screwing us with inflated prices. The way I see that kind of savings is just way too much to not try your hardest to get.

According to the APA.ca site Infiniti does honor the warranty in Canada with the same US restrictions. Even if they don't you can't buy an aftermarket warranty for 1500 or so. With a G37 you'd be saving $10k or more, so even if you spend $1500-2000 for an aftermarket warranty you're still coming out WAY ahead.

Also, I've talked to a few people who have brought Nissan cars from the US to Canada, and they said that even though Nissan doesn't officially cover the warranty, when they take it to their local dealership the dealership hasn't given them any problems. The dealerships make money out of warranty work, so it's in their best interest to do the work for you.

I really just want the manual transmission,,,, that's the only thing missing on my SL.

I'm going to at least ask the question to dealers if they will swap my 2008 Altima Sedan 3.5 SL for a 2009 Altima Coupe SE V6 w/ Premium Package. they are going to laugh and try to charge me maybe...... $7,000 additional?......... But if by some wonderful reasoning they only charge me $1,000 or less, then I am swapping.

p.s. - my SL has less than 5K miles on it,,, so it's possible... maybe.....

thx

I just spoke to my dealer about them when i was getting my 350z and he said that they are so wrapped up w/ the new Maxima and the GTR that he hasnt heard anything on the new a/c. Chances are your gonna get exactly what was released in 08 w/ less problems and maybe a few more coler options. Thats about it

I'm going 2 send an e-mail to a dealer momentarily and see if they can give me any insider info. I agree they can be wrapped up in the Maxima,,, but not really the GTR, they are only going to sell like one per dealership probably cuz of the high price tag,,

a yellow or purple a/c would be hott,, hehe

The GT-R isn't even expensive for what it packs under the hood.
