So from what I've gathered an 8.5" wide wheel, +35 offset, and 245 tires will fit on a dropped coupe with Eibach springs. Has anyone tried a 9 or 9.5" wide wheel with an offset that won't require rolling fenders? My thinking is stick with the same offset and tire width and the tire should be in the same place as with any other wheel width, seeing how the offset is from center and the tire will center itself only it will flare out more with a wider wheel which could mean trouble.

I'm not as worried about rubbing the fenders with a good offset as much as too much wheel going towards the axel. What do you guys think? Maybe staggered 19x8.5" front (+35) and possibly 19x9.5" rear (+40ish)….. I know it's all cosmetic and it's not RWD but it may look hot, don't know. Please help me decide with your opinions

Well doind a little math, I'm going to try a 19x9.5" with a min of a +40 offset with a 255/40-19... I know it's tall but only .3" more in diameter then you guys running 245/35-20's.

Seeing how a +35 works with a 245/35-20, I figure I'll give myself another 5mm from the fender with a +40 on the 255's. My only worry now is it might not clear with the extra 1" (+ the 5mm = .2") to the inner. I'll me lifting the car up tonight to take a close look....

Someone has to have tried this already.... To many guys running 8.5's,Read a guy on here has some 9.5's but is running a crazy low offset putting the wheels way past the fender with no drop.

yeah... i wouldnt venture into this territory... and on 245/35/20 we are over diameter anyways, so your just adding to the error..

id find someone with wheels you can test first... dont spend a dollar before then

why would you want to go so big. What about fuel economy? i think 8.5 is big enough.

not sure if they have been produced yet but they have the hypes in 18s with the mass lip n rear i was going to order them but dude at wheelsnext said they havent released them(bout 2months ago) yet so i went with the drifts.it might be a size smaller than what u want but 19 in tires are too expensive anyways even more so when u get in to the wider 1s

245 mm is 9.65 inches wide already...

That's a lotta rubber.

Any wider and I'd worry about hydroplaning...

O_O.. Thats a joke right? I had 295's on my old Z28 and never had a problem with hydroplaning.

Back on topic though, I would love to see how this turns out. I love the aggressive look a wide tire gives to a car. I must say I really miss the 295s lol, even my truck had 285.. granted they were a mud terrain but still! lol.

Besides when my motorcycle tire is nearly as big as my car tire.. its time for something to change! (I run a 190 usually but had a 200 on it not too long ago haha) arent these coupes a 215 stock?

Well I have 18x 9.5" wheels (+24mm offset and 245-40-18 tires) on at the moment and there are enough pictures up here for you to formulate your own opinion on it. I can say that I've never had any issues with them, although I haven't dropped the ride...yet. I have a feeling that fender rolling might be in order though.

Rob, let me know how this works out if you try it.

I'm thinking of the same setup.

I'm stuck right now on whether or not to go staggered. The biggest reason isn't really for the rubber, the tires would only be 10mm wider (255). Any wider and I'd have to get some huge offsets to avoid rubbing or might have to roll, as stated before a +30 rubs a little. Going with a 19x9.5 would be more for the extra lip. Now I wouldn't be able to rotate them and they really wouldn't serve a performance purpose. What it comes down to is the rim thickness not necessarily the rubber.

Come to think about it, I've never kept a car or a set of rims long enough to ever buy new tires. Pretty sad when you think about it.

Right now I'm just biting my time to see what Nismo does with their development set they have scheduled along with their lip kit. They're not going to be as bling bling as the ones I have posted buy Nismo always has some real good looking stuff.

I have some 19x7.5 (front) & 19x8 (rear), all they had in stock, 5Zigen Hyper 5ZR's right now but really wanting the wider setup and get away from the black polished look. Not to mention I dented a wheel with the 225/40-19 tires. They'll be for sale shortly, at a very very nice price
