Well, I'm cleaning a fuel tank (aluminum) and am wondering how safe it is to use muriatic acid as a cleaning agent. It does the job well on steel but have read that the reaction with aluminum is not too good. Will the anodizing come off (don't even know if tank is, but I'd assume it is)? I'm thinking of diluting 4 to 1 w/water. BTW, i've read that muriatic acid can be from 15-30% HCL if that helps.
