honestly, all the megans and obx headers I've seen have lasted! Just an fyi...

Also common header favs are Hotshots and Greddy, although I've heard about some people's Greddy's cracking... when it comes down to it, they can all crack depending what what you do to it (i.e. heatwrapping).

As far as I know, I don't think they make CARB certification for headers... at least I've never heard of such a thing.

humm.. about the megan header, i have one with the downpipe , but theres one little problem. its that the air restriction hose (i think its was called egr) , wont reach the header. the metal hose that goes around your engine from your header, and into your intake manifold.. do i have to custom that..? or did i get jibbed..?

I have same problem with my Megan Racing Headers, with my EGR tube, and its currently disconnected with CHECk Eng. light on... I went to Home Depot and bought some female/male pipe connector to try to connect it myself but no luck with that though... any body have any tips? I heard some body said to take it muffler shop and drill a new hole and get a pipe and weld it on there... but i think that will make it so ugly.

Here's what i did, i disconnected the assembly from the egr side, behind the intake mani and connected the pipe to the header first. Then I reconnected the egr side. I know it sounds like a lot of work, but it ended up being easier than struggling with the header part. Or maybe try loosening the pipe from the egr side to see if it gives you a little more flex to reach the header bung.

this is good. i was lookin at what your saying and, i think its only off by a few milimeters.. u think i can just take off my header and.., screw in the egr first and then slightly just screw back on the headers..hoping it wont bend the egr pipe..?? well i wanna do it that way, more easier then un plugging all my vacum hoses... what you guys think..??

A MILLION IDIOT..!! but i was one to burn the connector of my o2 sensor . now i got my headers in but before i do what i was saying, how can i find out if its my sensor or my egr.? that makes my check engine light come on..

I think i tried that too and it didnt work for me but its worth a shot if its only off by a little.

As for the check engine light, pull out your ecu and run it on diagnostic mode to see what code it brings up. It will help if you have the chilton's or factory service manual so you can match the code to the problem.

CARB has issued one EO (exectuive order) for one header for the s14. I just acquired one and am waiting to get some gaskets before I put it one. It is executive order D-397-8 for the GReddy SS 4-1 header. I read you need a flex peice so it won't crack so I already have one on there between my cats. See below from CARB:

http://www.arb.ca.gov/msprog/aftermkt/replace.htm

"Catalytic Converter Equipped Vehicles

Headers for use on catalytic converter equipped vehicles require an Executive Order to be legal for street use. "

Now try and find a header here:
