Just curious. I was worried when the news first broke.

Anyone with faulty sensors?

I did not get a recall letter.

The recall was issued on October 6, 2008 so if you didn't get a letter by now, I don't think your Rogue was affected.

Here are the details of the recall:

Road Safety Recalls Database

Transport Canada Recall # 2008363 Recall Date: 2008/10/06 Notification Type: Safety Mfr System: Other Manufacturer Recall Number: R139 R140 R141 Units Affected: 12,880 Category: Car, SUV Recall Details: On certain vehicles, a varistor in the Occupant Classification System (OCS) control unit located in the passenger seat cushion may have been manufactured incorrectly. Under certain conditions, this could cause an interruption of signal between the OCS and the Airbag control unit (ACU). This could result in the passenger airbag being suppressed. The (red) supplemental airbag warning light would flash & the (amber) front passenger airbag status light would illuminate to alert the vehicle operator, however in case of a crash a suppressed airbag could result in personal injury or death. Correction: Dealers will test the signal between the OCS & ACU and if necessary will replace the seat cushion containing OCS hardware. Never received the recall. My Rogue is a 2008 model but possibly was not affected.

The entire recall notice and information can be found here:

I am not Canadian, but I understand it was a US recall also. I inquired with my dealer at last oil change and he said it was just certain VINs...not ours :-)

Yes, the recall applies to Rogues sold in both the USA and Canada. The link I provided above has the recall notices for both countries.

I to did not receive a letter. During my third oil change, I had them run a diagnostic with no errors coming up.

I only had them run a diagnostic due to the fact that I heard about this recall through this forum. Also, I had noticed that the air bag light indicator would come on periodically if I had a passenger in the front seat or I had some items sitting on the front seat.Curious....has this happened to anybody else?

If the light comes on when you have items sitting on the passenger seat, then it is working as designed. The light means that it has detected a "light" occupant such as a child (or bag of grocericies!!) and has deactivated the air bag for safety reasons, as air bags can be dangerous to small people. If that light comes on when adults are sitting in the seat, then that would be a problem.

Thanks kerrton for the clarification. I should've also stated that I have noticed the light come on when full size adults are sitting in the passenger seat as well. I think its a defect but the dealer told me they couldn't find anything.

When my wife sits partly sideways to catch a quick nap, the airbag disable light also comes on. It seems to very sensitive to both weight and seating position. I believe the system is working as intended... it may just be a bit sensitive.

Remember, seatbelts, airbag systems, etc are tightly regulated by the US gov't. Nissan cannot be blamed for the way the system operates. TPMS is the same thing... the gov't mandated the systems but dismissed several features that could have reduced false warnings.

One thing to remember that is different in Canada versus the US. Recalls in Canada are not mandatory for the dealer or manufacturer to fix, just the notification is. In the US the fix is mandatory. My 2007 350Z was recalled but the SN was outside of the affected cars in the recall but had the same issue. My OCS failed as per the recall but Nissan refused to fix it...actually Hunt Club Nissan kept asking where I got my oil changes, and had my car repaired and why I wasn't supporting the dealer. Nissan Canada pushed me back to the dealer every time. So, I did some research and found that the OCS system in the recalled cars are pretty much the same. I found a similar seat on Ebay and took a chance for $77.00. Without doing anything I unplugged my seat and plugged the Ebay seat in...after 15 seconds the light went out with me sitting in it. Without hijacking this thread, I will post my seat change in the 350Z section.

Just had my vehicle in for the OCS recall..........they changed the passenger airbag light status......when the seat is empty the light remains on (previously it would eventually shut off).........when an adult sits on it the light will now turn off.

Yes i'm going in on monday for that and they want to check the trunk cylinders. They ordered the fuel pump pieces they need for that recall to and I will have to go back for that one later this month. Scary when you get all three letter within 15 days...makes one wonder to keep the car or sell it before the big issues arise like the cvt or other.
