just wondering if you have had any trouble crossing the border in your GTR?the reason im asking. My family has property in Windsor.

I would like to buy an R32 in Toronto and then register it to our Windsor address. Then drive it across to Detroit.... and keep it in my state side garage with the Ontario plate.

Since Ontario plates are ALMOST more common than Ohio plates in Detroit, I shouldn't have any problems.

Do they track exit and re-entry of canadian vehicles? Would I get red-flagged for the car being in the states for long stretches of time?

anyone see any issues with this?

its one thing to get hasseled by the DMV and NHTSA but I do NOT want any issues with crossing the border... homeland security and all.

While I disagree with Celm on a lot of the legalization/Registration issues, he's done enough work in the actual act of moving these cars around....I'd trust his answer.

And I looked into this idea before, too. Actually, it was the idea of having my boss (who lives in Toronto) buy a car there, then we'd drive it down here and I'd keep it here with Ontario plates and it being registered as a company car.

Point is, while doing research on that idea, I got the same answer from various trustworthy sources. Skylines are the most watched, scrutinized and blacklisted cars in American history (at least for right now, anyway)

Well my plan is to just run the R32 as a track car, but I would like to be able to drive it around town occasionally, and during the Woodward cruise, assuming its ok with just idling for 4 hours straight.

if someone is knowledgeable in this area I would like to hear more than just a YES or NO.
