I am an avid bow hunter. Just wondering if anyone in here is as well. I've been doing it for 6 years now. I love every moment spent in the deer stand. To date, I have harvestd 5 deer with a bow. Venison=teh yUm

My dad has been doing it for 30 yrs. He would also hunt muzzleloader. I bagged my first and only deer 2 years ago, or maybe it was last year (wow I must be getting old) The adrenaline rush is incredible! It's unlike anything I have ever experienced. Plus I have a 9 pointer to hang on my wall. It would have been 10 but one of the tines broke off I think my dad is averaging 1.5-1.7 deer/year throughout his 30 years hunting.

I'm a very avid rifle and muzzleloader hunter, but I never go into the bow thing. It surely makes you a better hunter though. You have to be within a fraction of the distance, which requires crazy amounts of patience and stealth. The same can be said for muzzleloaders too... but not quite to the extreme of a bow hunt.

maine, i agree wtih you. I muzzle loaded for 2 years consecutively. I then sold my gun, and have just continued to bow hunt. Bowhunting is my passion, and I love it. Nothing gets in my way when season comes. As a matter of fact, I better hit the sack so I can get up at 5 and sit in the stand for a fw hours before classes.

I suggest you take it up. It's fairly cheap, and very very relaxing.

Maybe, we'll see, I still gotta do my hunters safety course so I can get my tags, and prove that assault rifles arn't just for killing people.

as luck would have it, I had a small buck come in to my stand this morning. Opted to let it walk, there's plenty of time left.

My whole mom's side of the family has always been into Archery(grandma was a several time national champion) so I've always been unbelievable with a bow, but I've never had the balls to go out and kill something
