I was talking to a friend today about making my own dry sump oil pan. I am currently making one out of a stock ca pan, btw. Anyway, he suggested I contact a foundry via the net and request a prototype run from a company that does low volume production. He is into 4 wheeling and said he has bought parts by group buys that people had gotten done this way. I would try and get a quote for a pan if there was enough interest. I could easily cad out the dimensions and have them done, but I haven't even looked at possible cost yet. I would only charge enough over the actual cost of each one to cover all of my expenses. Anyone?

I ain't just the pan. You need the tank and the scavenge pumps with all the hoses. Our CA community for the most parts scratches and saves for money to buy coils and AFM, very few people here could afford it and of those that could even fewer would want it. Bild a nice swingdoor baffle pan and you might get some interest but dry sump is too exotic.

Yeah but its sooo hot. Real ballers would run dry sump. I am not one of these "ballers" though. When I get a real job man, when I get a real job.

I mean, humor me though, what would one of these pans cost me? I would of course provide the donor oil pan.

Yea, I might be interested in a baffled wet sump, but a dry sump is way too much for me.

Just gaging interest, like I said. I would imagine the pans would run between 5 and 7 hundred. I got mine cut down last night anyway, just gotta stitch it back together now.

I would very much like to see pictures of your pan when you get it finished.

Is anyone running ca18det with dry oil sump here?

Sorry for my clumsy English, haven’t use it for approximately four years.

I drained the oil on my motor before I pulled it out. Does that count?
