or am i wrong? because my friend bought a front lip kit for his Honda accord on bay for 100 bux it felt like the cheapest plastic availble for this planet

As long as you stay away from fiberglass, you should be fine. I've heard some odd things about the Fiber reinforced plastic...like it's just another name for fiberglass lol.
