Just curious, is there any RB25 monster out there? Talked to a japanese company a few years ago and they thought I was stupid, build a RB25???They only build RB26DETT he said...

But after a few RB25 build up´s I can´t say the same thing, they are VERY near the RB26 both internally and head.

i have around 450 rwhp on stock internals, if you did some upgrades to the internals you could easily crank out more saftly

not soo much ive seen in the USA.. high 500's is about it, but over on austrailia forums some are putting down some serious numbers with rebuilt/forged bottom ends. Jazz, and tally are really the only ones ive seen with crazy high numbers... jazz needed some cams and his would have been over 600 easily... depends on your pockets i suppose.

There's quite a few High HP RB25's in south florida owned by people who don't use the internet. There was one who claimed 800HP (or whp) in a yellow s13 with a neo engine. Knowing how those west indian guys do things down there, I wouldn't dismiss that claim..

387whp out of a rb20 isnt bad...any motor can make good power all depends on parts selection and how its tuned.

Thanks guys, many nice answers. I thought you maybe had some big hp Drag cars but RB25 is still pretty new as import engine in USA right? Most people are building right now, that´s cool.

The guy I talked to actually worked for Takakaira, he didn´t see the RB25 as a performance engine. But that´s a few years ago, things change and I still think the RB25 will make people happy.

We flow tested a ported RB25 head and they are really good. According to the head company (best one here) it will flow 1000 bhp without a problem and no need for high lift cams.

across the pond (japan) the RB25 is dismissed because frankly they can get a RB26 for cheap. the 25 is a very good option here because the rb26 costs over double than a 25 swap and dosent really get you that much more power. 5000$ vs 10,000$ for a swap? id take a rb25 then put the other 5000$ into the engine and make double the power of the 26

the rb swaps have only really gained popularity in the US in the past 3ish years so its relativley new over here.

i knew the 25 head flowed well, but i didnt know that well. thats pretty astonishing.

True, true, same thing here. The RB26 owners can´t afford to open them up.

The RB25 actually flowed enough for 1000 hp with 8.5 mm lift and up, that´s really good. You can use stock lifters and springs to that lift but you need to rev 8000 rpm or more to go there and feels better to you real stuff.

I know a few 26 owners that have gone fully built it dosn't matter though. Im looking for a reliable 600whp out of my rb26. It takes loads of time and $ to make a 2.6 engine run there for long periods of time. most 26 owners just dont jibberjabber about there setups. They got better $hit to do.

we have several customers out side the USA make 750/800RWHP on the RB25. One made 700 on a stock block before head gasket problem started..
