any alternative to replacing cat with other than stock need to know whether to keep vehicle or dispose of due to cost
2005 qx56 about a month ago, heard several large pops under car, found tailpipe severed just to the rear of the muffler. Now vehicle won't rev above 3000 without losing all forward motion. Is this a hopelessly blocked cat and can it be replaced without the expense of replacing stock exhaust manifolds such as with headers, b pipes etc.

Pretty simple - You can buy a universal cat and have it welded in at any local muffler shop.
