I have been tinkering with the idea of making a Q all wheel drive. But finding those parts and even affording them seems impossible.

Does anyone know if the All Wheel Drive (AWD system can be turned on and off as well? All I can think about is a AWD Q ripping through snow (or mud for us rally people).

Can anyone help or lead me in the right direction. :)

I will assume your the overseas folks as they were never brought over here.

I gotta ask-ya, WHY would you want to drop that kind of labor and time into a car that old?

Labor (my time is worth it on something like this). My money...Not so much.

I just wanted to gather up information really and get more activity to this place.

If I had the money you had (Assuming a lot) I would make a 1993 Q45TA with a standard and AWD. The engine would be called VH45DETR (Look it up).

Seriously has anyone seen a front differential that looks like this: http://www.megazip.ru/ru/auto/nissan/vi ... 479#g88956

I looked into what your said and while the front diff and transfer case are similar its not a bolt on affair.

I was hoping you could get a G35 with a Manual Transmission (MT) with all wheel drive, But no such luck. And after 2008 the Transfer case design changes. I wish there was more than one gear ratio with All Wheel Drive (AWD) but no such luck there either. It would also be nice to have a Neutral option as well just in case.

And of course I need to find a spare Q45 rear diff because I need to have the same ring and pinion ratio. And of course the front hubs would have to be modified as well....

I am getting cold feet before I even went any further than this (that's probably a good thing).

Actually I just did some more research and this may very yet work!!!!! But only with automatic transmissions. More details to come. :)

I found one issue and that is the front wheel hubs and bearings. I would have to use the rear wheel hubs in the front because they are splined.

Question is, the rear ones have 4 bolts that hold them in place where as the front ones are just pressed in. Why are the rear bolted VS pressed in?

Would the wheel hubs from a Nissan GTR fit?

How are more people not interested in this??? It may seem like a crazy dream now but so was a manual transmission in a Q....

I posted my questions that may make or break this project in the G35 forum: bolted-vs-pressed-in-wheel-bearing-t553836.html

As for keeping the Transfer case cool I have a idea for that as well.

The G section is slower than I thought.

Does anyone have any spare hubs laying around? If so can you tell me if the rear hubs would fit in the front?

Damn I need another cheap parts car...
