Hello all,

I have noticed a few small paint chips on my white Versa and was wondering what I could do about them. I've heard things like putting a bit of clear nail polish on them will stop them from getting worse.. What about the touch-up paint from the dealer?

Any advice would be appreciated!

Thanks!

I think touch-up paint is the best way to go, but I'd like to know for sure as well. All of these trips upstate to Brewster and New Paltz are killing my hood and front bumper.

Best bet would be the 3M Clear Bra, but you would have needed to apply it right out of the dealership. You can still apply some touch-up paint, and then put the kit on. Depending on the kit you purchase, you can cover much of the exposed painted front and side areas of the vehicle. Hood, mirrors, bumpers, fenders, etc...

Check out http://www.carpretty.com/3mpaintprotectionfilm.htm. They are located in Edmonton. I looked for something in Calgary but couldn't find one.

I called the Edmonton place and for a 12 inch (up the hood I assume) it was about 150 and for a 24 inch it was 250 (I think) He said there was someone in Calgary that did it too and that he could reccomend, I can't remember the name but it's something TINT. Call the edmonton dude and get the Calgary guy's #

I think the best $200-$300 investment for a new car is ClearBar. I had it done on my 2001 Acura CL-S and five years later the hood looked as good as new. Its a real secure feeling following a winter gravel truck out to the Oregon coast knowing HE CAN'T HURT ME!

Mine was put on by http://www.clearbraoregon.com and it was the old technology - still great stuff. The owner of that store has now moved on to something much better and basically invisible. Its called VentureShield and they have dealers everywhere. Here is the Calgary dealer:

By the way, I just noticed today the outside mirrors on the Tiida have ClearBra! Must be factory installed. I don't know whose brand it is but that's nice attention to detail by Nissan.
