antifreeze smell

I'm getting a definite antifreeze smell coming from under the hood when the engine is warmed up on my 07 SL (only 20k miles). looks like the reservoir level is dropping slightly too but no drips on the garage floor.
I gave it a quickie visual look over but saw nothing. Any history of antifreeze leaks on these puppies?

Chances are if you are smelling it, then its burning off somewhere. Try feeling around (when the engine is cold) for any coolant residue. Also look for any discoloration (burned coolant). Keep in mind there could be a drip hitting a fan or something, blowing it into something hot.

I'm gonna have the oil changed at the dealer (still have a freebie coupon). I'll ask them to do a quickie visual for the antifreeze leak. Better not be the water pump.

Dealer service did a visual inspection and saw no leaks or wet spots. Was told hot coolant cycling into the reservoir could have been source of smell.

Did it go away? Does your reservoir look really full?

I haven't noticed it since but I'm not concerned about it now. The res is just a bit below the half way mark between max & min.
