Remove your fan clutch, your belt, water pump pulley and your water pump, and possibly your intake and fan guards if they become to much trouble to work around. These steps apply to the 240sx of course, you did not mentioned what kind of car that you have. Good Luck with everything and before you do anything if you have not already done so, fill your radiator up and look at the tiny weep hole under the water pump to see if there is water dripping. If there is then it is your water pump. Just from experience, if you find that it is not dripping, start the car for a few seconds after you fill the radiator and then turn it off. Then look at it again and see if it is dripping. I had a problem where my water pump was leaking intermittently and then it finally gave out. Just a few words of advice to save you the hastle later on.
