Well I have a 2004 G35x (wife’s car) to which I installed a Stillen CAI over a year ago. Really like the additional pop it gives the car as well as the sound.

Based on this I wanted to add a dual Stillen CAI to my 2008 G35xs but was hesitant since the only mechanical work done on this car has been by the dealer (routine maintenance) and I haven’t messed with anything yet. Anyway, I ordered the CAI (on special) and decided to have the dealer install it while performing a routine oil change / tire rotation. Car’s ready - install was $69.00. Just thought having the dealer do the simple install would provide piece of mind. I realize no warranties are impacted if the issue is not related to the mod but I think the $69.00 is worth my piece of mind.

Looking forward to picking it up later today. Will post back.

Can't wait to hear how you like it...

It should give you double pop because of the dual intakes

More “swell” and pleasing sound accelerating especially above 3000 rpm! Will be interesting to see if there is any change in mileage – generally avg. 21-22 mpg. I’m pretty sure I gained ~ 1mpg on the’04 after adding the CAI. With regard to the “pop”, the ’04 with the still has a quicker throttle response than the ’08 with the CAI but I think this is inherent in the ‘04’s ECU. With respect to the ECU, the service manager said it will take about 100 miles before the ECU on the ’08 detects the new CAI and learns/adjusts for it. Not sure if I’ll notice any additional change.

Looking forward to getting out of work and driving !
