My vehicle has been down for a few weeks now i ran out of tools to continue checking for possible issues
the engine has the correct timing and the fuel is also good and the electrical well it is there for the most part but previous owner made a mess with the wiring.

I took the car to get a proper diagnoses and it came out that the anti theft system is what is preventing my car from turning on
they also mentioned the mechanical and fuel aspects of the engine are good the wiring is a mess but it is doing its job

My question is can i remove the anti theft system in the car (i believe its located to the right of the ecu) besides that what else do i need to disconnect to remove the system so my car can start up again its a 1993 z32 na 5 sp

Yes it is a small box located right above the ECU and all you need to do is unplug it and be done with it

all right im gonna do that tomorrow then the people who diagnosed it said they were worried that if i just disconnect the plug it will do some damage like erase all the ecu info or something like that but is it really as serious as they make it sound or ill be fine

just an update i did remove the anti theft system and the car did seem to respond better however it is still not sending the spark there is a fuel smell coming from the engine but that is since my car isnt setting it off anway any input would be appreciated at any other possible places i could check

i had to disconnect my fans since thats where the original problem started could it be that my ecu went bad and if it did go bad is there a chance my next ecu would get fried also if it is my cars wiring??

Check all grounds in the engine bay. You can also check if your ECU is shot by swapping it out for a known good one to see if it improves the situation. What exactly is the car doing when you start it up now? Rough idle? Fuel smell from the engine bay could be the fuel dampener or fuel pressure regulator, or leaking fuel line.

all fuses are ok except for the fan which i removed the engine sounds normal when i try to start it it just never starts

the fuel smell is only when i try starting it there are no leaks and i replace the fuel pressure regulator not to long ago the people who diagnosed it said its smelling like that cuz i keep trying to start it

as for the ecu there are no Z's in my town i would have to drive an hour to borrow my friends would a 2+2 be the same and i also could borrow a tt ecu for a few days just to see if it starts

the one thing im worried about is if i borrow my friends ecu would my burn it if it does have an electrical issue
