Hey I'm looking for an answer to my problem.
I replaced the ignition in my pathfinder because the old one was bound up. Replaced it with a Beck Arnley ignition, ignition works and turns the starter but will not fire the engine. My security light stays on and I was told i need to reset the alarm system but can't seem to find an answer that works so far. Anyone have a fix on this?

The original key has a chip in it. You need to have that original key close to the ignition switch for the car to start. I hope you kept it, they are pricey.

This must not apply to my '98 Pathfinder? Because I'm currently driving around with a copy of my original key and the original being in the house. Or is it my Anti-Theft not working? :gotme

Shoot no luck. Is there anyway to disable the alarm system? I let it sit all night with the battery disconnected but it's not happening. Does the ignition have a chip that needs to be connected to the wiring? I'm stumped.

@leo1998, You don't have a chip in your key, Newer models do. To the OP, You will need to have the key and switch reprogrammed at the dealership or a locksmith with a consult computer. My dealer charged me $70 to do.
