The last thread was locked. Maybe it should have been named "Kill yourselves out there". Anyway, what are the worst accidents you guys have been in? I have been fortunate enough never to have wrecked a car (knock on morning wood). Whose fault was it and what were you driving??

We often discuss mods and speed stories so lets see some of the cons of such activities shall we?

Never had an accident (on a public road) that was my fault. Have barrel-rolled a Samurai in the desert (on purpose) and got rear-ended by a damn lowrider pickup once at 35mph, totalled the rental Lumina I was driving.

Wrecked 2 motorcycles - One I buried into the driver door of some 88-year-old moron at 35 when he pulled out of a driveway 20 yards in front of me, and another I laid it down at around 30 mph when I got sideswiped by a chick in a lifted Toyota 4x4 (ooooh, i'm so sorry, i didn't see you down there...) DIE b****!!! That was my favorite pair of jeans and I have asphalt in my a$$!! DIE!!!

LMAO...

One of my worst fears is being in an accident that's my fault... Especially a rear-ender. Not only would I be heartbroken if I damaged Quella's pretty face, I'd be ashamed and embarassed for messing up someone else's day.

The Samurai thing was done on a bet - I won.:D

hmm, i hit a school bus with my 92 mustang. it was my first car, but it was crappy due to its 110 hp 4 banger. had to park in the dirt at school as parking lot was too small. roads around the school were bad and were being worked on at the time. so anyway i have mud on my tires and run through a huge puddle and pull out onto the road, no school zone and everybody doing 50 mph. i slide the back around and slam the battery cover on a bus. left front fender, headlight, and windshield washer resevoir destroyed and hood bent, but was fixed it two days by my dad. he heated the fender up with a torch and pounded it back into shape, same with the hood. little bondo and paint and a new headlight and it looked ok. got one of those car bras and the only thing you could see was mismatched paint and a slight bulge in the fender.

I wrecked my 240 about a month ago :( Was getting on a notoriously bad off ramp going about 50 mph. The posted speed limit is 45 but I always do 50 or 55, but I was so tired and ready to be home I didn't even realize it had been raining *doh*. The ramp has two bridges and at the end of each one there is a bad bump. Well, I hit the first one and the car started to get loose so I began to slow down but when I hit the second one it fishtailed two or three times before the right rear corner hit the guard rail and sent me flying across the road. Driver's side front fender damaged beyone repair, head light assembly crinkled. Driver's side door scratched and dented slightly, driver's side rear fender dented incredibly bad. only like damage to passenger side, scratched paint and a gash in the right rear side and the fender has a very slide bend in it and is bent at the door where my friend got out and bent the piss out of it. the hood is also very slightly bent, but you can't tell unless you get close. The entire engine bay was crinkled in on the driver's side and the metal section of the bumper was pushed aginst the other side so it bulges. Radiator was also slightly damaged, had to j.b. weld a small section. It's not bent slightly on the driver's side. I had to replace the driver's side strut too, it was bent terribly and there was no way I could have driven it. The car now pulls slightly to the right. I'm guessing because it's slightly out of align and needs another new strut on the driver's side anyway.Well, this was incredibly long, but oh well lol.

I have never been driving during a wreck but I have been the passenger in a few. The most memorable was in 1992, a friend of mine rented a convertable Chrysler Lebaron for prom (talk about class) and a bunch of us took it out the night before. The top was down and we were blasting Two Live Crew and being punk kids."Luke Skywalker" was crooning in his somewhat crude way

"Like my arse up and down...lick it to yo tongue turns dodo brown!"

The driver of the lebaron we were in decided he wanted to turn around and head back into town. We were on a four lane road with a partial median. He decided to cut from the furthest lane to cross the median and we were hit broad side by a dodge ram. I was up front and I remember the car was on two wheels being pushed by the dodge. Luckily we didn't flip over in that convertable. No one was hurt and amazingly we all had our seat belts on. Of course there was that one pedestrian who claims to have seen the whole thing but disapperas when the cops show up. The car was totaled and my buddy had to drive an 88 Delta with crush velvet seats to the prom.

The funniest thing is that we coudn't get the damned radio to turn off so we are talking to cops with Two Live Crew blaring "Me so Horny!".

The only one that was my fault.... three accidents in one day!!!

I literally DROVE UP THE BACK of a Saab in my Mazda truck (lifted... big-ol tires). I put a small dent in my front bumper.... totally caved in the Saab's rear window and trunk!! MY FAULT.

Later that day... I parked it uphill from my brother's Celica GT. I went to start it, somehow my brakes got fuc#ed up in the first accident.. and I rolled down hill into his car as I tried to start it.

At that point I was stuck on his now folded hood, so I put it in 4-wheel drive, high gear and hammered it backwards... without looking. I hit my uncle's truck doing about 15mph backwards!!!

All in all, one REALLY bad day... 3 accidents... all my fault. Never had one before or since (the rest were not my fault)!!!

In the late ‘70s I rode as navigator with a friend in the North American Rally Series. Once, we ended up on our roof sliding down a 300 ft embankment bouncing from tree to tree. I insist it was his driving and not my navigating that put us there. It took two days to recover the car.

While we were upside down sliding through the mud, he went through his full shutdown checklist:Main power breaker – OffBoth Ignition switches - OffBoth Fuel pumps – Off

Rally drivers are strange.

I wasn't in this wreck but a buddy and I were running about 70 down a back road out in the middle of BFE MS. I was in my 94 twin turbo stealth awd and my buddy was in a 97 z28. I was in the lead on the road came around a left hand corner. I cut in the other lane a little to hold the turn better. I was coming through the corner and I felt the car bouncing through the corner toward the outside well I was almost around the corner and glanced back in my rear view mirror and saw his car turn side ways. Once it registered in my head what had happen I immedatly stop the car and turned around to check on him. I arrived and his car was sitting sideways in some trees didn't look like much damage didn't relize his T-tops and windows were busted out at the time ran to the car he was knocked out and so was his girlfriend and she was in sizures. The car spun rolled in a rivine then landed in a tree about 10 feet and slid down it the passanger side of the car was destroyed bad enough that litterly the metal of the door had fallen off. The image of his car breaking lose in my rearview haunted my dreams for months. he was ok and so was his girlfriend they were sore and had minor scratches and that was it. The thing that saved their lives was the sub frame contectors that he added.

Now my worse wreck i pulled out in front of someone in my 96 sonoma and she totaled it at the time i pulled out I couldn't see the car due to the traffic at the light and since that day i have praised that lady because if i wouldn't have totaled that truck in the wreck i would have never been bit by the sports car bug

This was my 97 eclipse.

I had the car for 3 whole days. I was going down a 2 lane highway in the left lane overtaking a van in the right lane. Some kid coming across traffic to head the other direction didn't pay attention at the stop sign. He cleared the right lane but didn't clear the left lane and I T-boned him right behind the front driver's side wheel. I saw him pull up the the stop sign but I never saw him pull out cause of the van until it was to late. I was probably going 55 mph when i hit the little bastard.

But its cool cause i got a fat insurance check, then I found my 240. To think if i would have been just a second later I may have never owned a 240. Its like the universe ment for us to be together:ylsuper

i've been lucky. knock on wood...for not having any accidents. a perfect record. but i have been in an accident, and only thing i have hit is a sidewalk (yeah big deal). but i speed. i speed when no one is with me. i bout lost it on 2 curves going 60mph in 45mph zone, i dont do the speed limit unless a cop is behind me or like i said when i dont have passengers. back in 93', a guy ran a stop sign and hit my mom's car from the side. messed the whole front of the car up. i wasnt buckled. i was sitting with my feet in the seat. that last thing i remember was ducking and screaming. the last thing i saw and remember was my mom getting in the turning lane to miss the on coming car. we were on a bridge and it spun the car and the back end of the car was up against the the rail. the front end was smashed all the way up toward the windshield, and the steering wheel column was in my mothers lap. all i know is i was damn lucky, b/c i cracked the windshield (part of it on the passenger side), i was bruised up bad. the guy that hit us was free to go that night. they said my mom was speeding. which that is bull****. the guy had also been drinking. so had my mom. but we were just heading home like any other night and some guy decided he was going to run a stop sign.

you know whats bad is, i should no not to speed, but i do. i know not to fly around curves but i do. i almost come close to having a car rear end me from that same bridge. i didnt see the SUV coming around the curve til i was out in the road and jerked the car in the turning lane. the lady of course had time to come to a complete stop and blow her damn horn at me. i dont think i will stop and do the speed limit, i usually do 5mph maybe 10 sometimes or in between. i know this doesnt have nothing much to do with this but anyways....i guess i wanted to say i been lucky for not having a wreck yet. this past week, i did come close to wrecking my car for sure. i was doing 35mph, i had my mom's dog with me. since hasnt been in my new car he was excited. he kept jumping from the back seat to the front. finally i pushed him back down in the passenger seat. i didnt know i was now driving half way in the ditch pretty fast. the noise of **** hitting the tires got my attention and wheni looked up here comes a pole coming at me. i managed to pull the car back on the road in time. i might have been doing more than 35mph but when i looked down i only got glimpse of it. i left a big tired track in the ditch and the car behind me was freaking out b/c they were dead stopped behind me and they turned off quickly.

Worst accidents. I can think of two memorable ones.

Off track: With one passneger, one evening on the way to dinner, I'm at a red light. Light turns green, I'm the third car to cross the intersection in my former show condition corvair going about 15 mph. Didn't know there was an apparent impromptu street race coming at me from the right. Stupid kid in his fathers Cordoba (the one with Corinthian Leather) He realized too late he had a red light and couldn't stop. T-bones me at about 50 mph at the passenger door. I saw his lights about 25' before impact. My car was airborne for about 50' then skidded another 100' before slamming against a tall curb and rebounding. Took firemen/paramedics 30minutes to extract my friend. She shattered just about bone on her right side, ( elbow, shoulder, jaw, knee, pelvis, knee, ankle, etc). I escaped with 75 stitches (my blood was everywhere) and a concussion. She recovered but she spent a few days in intensive care and a month in traction. Needless to say, I'm not a fan of street racing.

On track: In a Skip Barber formula dodge at Lime Rock, drying track after a rain storm. Going full throttle flying at the down hill turn. Hit a puddle with the my right side tires at the apex, went sideways for about a 100 yards, engulfed in white tire smoke most of the way. Felt like slow motion. Then spun into the freshly mowed infield, got covered in grass clipping. I got it stopped before hitting the tire pile. Since the downhill turn is visible to the pits, everyone saw it. When I returned to the pits covered in grass, the comments were numerous, including "hey, ya' got a mulching attachment for that thing", and "hey John Deere, my lawn needs mowing too". I got hosed off and went out again.

ok well one night i was on a dirt road with my friend (he was driving) we were in his subiru (sp?) NOT AWD... anyways he started messing around and did some fishtails (why i dunno) and he lost control.. now this road was an access road to a swamp so there was this big ditch on both sides of the road.. we lost control and went straight for a big ditch filled with alligators and fish and stuff.. the car just slides.. we come to a stop with the front end over looking the water.. then the car slides the the left. im like "oh sh1t" and it hits an oak tree (thank god for the tree, if it wasnt there we would of fliped right into the swamp) and it comes to a stop.. im like.. ok what do i do now? my friend yells "GET THE F UCK OUT!" so i get out and so does he.. the thing is almost off and so i have to sit on the back of the car to keep it from sliding in.. we wait about 10 mins and some redneck comes by in a truck.. we get him to yank us out.. and bam we are out.. onlything that messed up on the car was the rerview merror.. but no biggy he dident use it anyways :)

now for the second one (involving a ditch also)... i was coming out of my housing devlopment (in my 240) to go get some dinner... i had 2 other friends in the car (alot of added weight). i had my drifting tires on from the night befour (too lazy to take them off) anyways i power out of the corner and begine to drift (not trying to it just happened) i drift fine but then i readjust to get straight and the weight was off.. not used to it. .and it snaps the car right for the ditch.. i slam on my brakes but my ABS is a pice of **** and doesnt really stop me.. we slide and my front end is over the edge of the ditch (right past the front tires).. some guy stops and helps me get my car out but the cops come b4 i get a chance to get it out.. they yell at me but the guy covers for me and says that i had tred on my tires but it wore off when we were trying to get it out.. anyways we stop traffic on the road for like 5 mins, yank the car out and i went on my way to get food.. !.. and thats it :)
