This is a low as my antennae goes

This is as high

This shows what looks like it can go higher

It doesn't try to go any lower or higher, you can hear the motor stop. The antennae never worked on my coupe (this is my vert), But the motor would try for atleast ten seconds.I sprayed it with some WD, but nothin

You should get a s2000 antenna, they work fine and look 10 times better. I'll try to get i picture of my friends.

You need to buy a new antenna mast, which can be found on ebay. They should come with instructions on how to replace. It's somewhat of a pain to replace, because you might have to remove the entire antenna motor assembly. Most likely the plastic rack inside has snapped so that's why it won't retract all the way.

But shouldn't the motor continue to try? It actually quits where the antennae stops.

Yea, the motor will continue to move after the antenna stops. This is because the plastic rack (with gear teeth) is broken. It's trying retract or unroll the entire length of the plastic rack, but it can't now because it's broke in two. Applying WD-40 won't help.

I had the same problem when I first bought my 240. The previous owner thought that the sound of the motor after the antenna stopped moving was a rear speaker malfunction.

That's just it. The motor stops when the antennae stops. I don't think it's a mast problem.I know the mast on my coupe is messed up because the motor works, but the antennae doesn't.

ahh i misread your post. Got confused between your coupe and vert. hmm then something else must be wrong inside. Guess the best way is to pullout the antenna motor assembly and see how it's operating close up.
