Almost all the radio stations on my '90Q don't cound clear. I mean, it sounds ok, but if i get into my wife's 94max w/ a similar Bose system it sounds much better, and thats when you really notice the lack of clarity. The fm modulator cd system, has a distinct bzzzz "behind" the music...that is, when you pause the cd or there is a break in between songs or a point where there's no vocals you can hear this bzzzz( sounds like a when you tune a radio and it's between stations). can a bad antenna wire or antenna itself be the cause? any input would be appreciated>What would make an antenna go bad?

Thanx

check all your connections to the speakers themselves. Then pull out the radio and check the connections on the back of the radio itself. Then check your antennae connections in the trunk. If none of this cures the problem, trade the car with your friend in NY. I hear you like the black interior better.

Hey thanks man, sounds like alot of work for a novice like myself. should i start w/ the antenna wire first. Is that a logical starting point? And maybe someday i'll get up off this one...black on grey really is best !!!

First with that mileage I dont think your Q is going anywhere.

Second, since you said you hear the sound when you reduce the volume that is why I said it may be a ground or possibly and bad wire in your system.

Easiest way to find out is jiggiling all the possible wire that could cause your problem and seeing if you hear the difference. That way you can diagnose your problem. Even check the wires on teh cd changer as that can be a possibilty.
