 Hey does anyone know how to get the manual antenna assembly off of a s13 hatch??? Just went to pick a part this morning and got one, but i actually cut the antenna assembly out of the fender without damaging it, thinking i could take it apart at home. I searched on here and google. one guy said you need to stick something in the two holes on the top of the base and turn it to unscrew the base.

Well that didnt go to well, that thing was a little b**** and i couldnt get it apart. I freaking destroyed it in my garage just now and now i need another one. Im gueassing i got a really stubron antenna or something but. Before i destroy another one i need to find out how to dismantle the thing. Does anyone know or can they point me in the right direction, thanks.

From what I remember yeah you need to turn the top of the base with the 2 holes in it. When I took mine out I had the same problem, ended up grabbing it with vise grips and it came out lol. But you're trying to reuse/install it so I would not recommend doing that lol

You should be able to check the FSM and find a breakdown of how it goes together

yea i broke down after an hour trying to use little pliers to uscrew it and used a vice grip on it. then i freakign destroyed it. i got it to spin but it just spins and goes nowhere. i think its just old or something and is all seized up inside or even the threads all destroyed

You can purchase Specific Sockets for removing them.

thanks didnt know that. it seemed though to me that it was siezed on. i dont think a socket would have helped. i totally like made the hole 4x bigger just trying to twist. but ill deffinitly look into that socket tool for the next antenna.

yes twist the top with the holes. the tool makes life easy. the threads get corroded in there. you may want to use a penetrating oil in there to free it up a little first. do small turns back and forth
