I have a 300ZX with a factory standard head unit. I will be fitting an aftermarket head unit soon but dont want to lose the ability to raise/lower the radio antenna. I understand when a new radio harness is fitted the antenna is raised and lowered based on ignition.

I have found a past thread detailing the requirements for buying a standalone switch but I wondered if the electric mirror switch could be used? My car does not have the electric folding mirrors and I was thinking of getting hold of the mirror controls from a model that does and using the switch to control the antenna to keep the OEM look.

Thanks!

Yes that will work, any on/off type switch will work. I have a toggle switch tucked away below the steering column lower panel, not visible, but you can feel it.
