Hey all... I opened up the antenna motor, removed broken pieces, reinstalled, and then fed a new mast in from the outside. It extends and retracts OK, but what's driving me nuts is that it seems to be missing something that keeps it stable in the housing. The whole antenna can move from side to side from the base.

I suspect my problem is that I'm missing a spacer and/or a brass tube. Would those stabilize the antenna mast?

I'm hoping someone can tell me the order the parts go in when you *just* replace the antenna mast so I can figure out what I'm missing. What would be awesome is either a step-by-step ("put x washer, then x nut, then...") or a drawing that shows super-clearly where the pieces actually go.

ISSUE #1: I keep looking at this image ( https://www.nissanpartsdeal.com/diagram ... 0_A002.png ) and can't figure out what the difference is between the spacer 27960DA (which I don't seem to have at all, and where exactly does it go? ) and 28227 (which is a flat rubber piece that seems like it's supposed to go between the rounded rubber nut and the painted antenna base, but seems to just fall back in the hole--and which way is up and front on this thing?).

ISSUE #2: I don't have the brass tube referred to in #11 here, and can't find a part number to buy one:

I've spent an embarrassing amount of time reading everything I can and looking at diagrams, but still can't seem to figure out what's what. Any help to keep me (and future people) from losing my mind any further would be gratefully received. :yesnod Thank you!

4. The thin brass tube that seems nonexistent, except several people mention it, including here:

After I'd given up and was closing out browser windows, happened to click on this. Shows where 28227 washer goes on antenna base:

This page also shows the metal cuff that's supposed to go at the base of the antenna. Don't know if I threw out my original one by mistake, or it wasn't there at all... so now I'm down to two mysteries: what is the spacer and where does it go, and where do I find that metal cuff for the mast...

I think when I fixed mine, I had same problem. An after market mast was the problem because it did not have the washer you spoke of. OEM mast works fine.

It's not sold with a washer or the outer metal cuff, just the antenna itself attached to the white nylon rope.

In other news, just realized that I *didn't* throw out the original antenna, and I do have the metal cuff...!
