This may sound crazy, but be gentle with me. I just got a 350Z and I need to get some road salt off of the car. It's too cold to wash it my self and I want to take it to a car wash.

Does the antenna screw off? If not, will a normal "no brush" car wash hurt my antenna?

Thank

- Newbie

despite my lack of love for car wash stands, i dislike salt even more. You should be fine in a brushless/touchless one... even though it won't really clean your car which u probably know heh.

I just did one in the 240sx and it was fine... but also decided a couple weeks ago to shave it off too lol... so Monday it should be finished.

Go to the local marine store like West Marine. Salt X is the best de-salting solution out there. Gentle on the paint also. Hand wash is the way to go for my "Z". There are things and then there is the "Z"

Good luck

Yes, it does screw off. Although it's a "flexible" antenna, I suggest removing it before going thru one of those car washes.

As long as its a "touchless" one, no need to remove anything.

I've run lots of Z33's through our "soft cloth" style carwash after working on them. Its certainly not touchless and not once have we ever removed antenna. It won't hurt it one bit.

Good point. I guess you need to scope out exactly what kind of "brushless" car wash place it is That'll determine whether or not you'll need to pull the antenna.
