I am going to order this http://www.crutchfield.com/App...0NI12 to connect the antenna to my new head unit.

But, what's the blue cable for on the adaptor?

If I remember my stereo installation days...blue wire was always for a power antenna...remember those ones that slid up & down and always broke after a couple years...

Right so what I gather, that cable is for two things, power antenna control and power boost for glass antenna.

The question is does the rogue have a glass antenna and should that cable be powered?

Unlike some older model Nissans, the Rogue does not have the in-glass antenna.

Great, so this cable is pointless to use then. Thanks!

So i've wired my new head unit up and my reception is poor while before it was good.

I'm guessing this comes down to the adaptor and that blue cable.

Should it be powered or not?

I just looked over the wiring diagrams in the FSM. There appears to be a built in amplifier in the antenna.

So yes, you must power the blue wire by connecting to the blue 'power antenna' wire on the head unit. This will power the antenna amp and should improve your reception.

Yeah, that did the job. You got to power that antenna.

My unit is all hooked up and HD radio is sweet.

Where did you connect the blue radio amp wire to?

I followed philipa's suggestion.

There is a cable on the headunit to power the antenna for cars that say have electric extending anetennas, in the headunit I believe there is an option to enable it to be power, it's been a while since I hooked it up though.

Still super happy with it all, sounds fantastic.
