Gang,
I installed the Peripheral Electronics iPod and HD radio adapter (PXAMG and HDRT) modules. The install went well, pretty simple actually.
I had an initial problem which was explained to me by manager of the online store where I bought it from. The problem was that while the iPod and SAT radio functions worked fine, the HD AM and FM radio didn't work at all. Turns out that there's a loose blue wire coming off of the BAA36 antenna adapter. There were no instructions for that wire, so I (wrongly) assumed it was a ground and left it alone. What it is, I was told, is a 12v ACC power hookup for the diversity antenna. Without that powered up, the radio won't work as it is supposed to. So...
I am going to have to find a 12V switched power supply for that. While the kit installation was simple, with harness connectors, this 12V hookup is a bit more challenging...for me, anyway. I can cut/splice/tap/etc., but have absolutely no clue where to find a 12V power supply. I suppose I could run something to a fuse block somewhere, but honestly I would much prefer to splice into a wire that's already handy and in the vicinity of the radio.
Any suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks!
