Alright, so I hear that I only need the calipers, rotors, pads, and brake lines to convert my front s13 brakes to 30mm aluminum z32 brakes. Do i need any of that small stuff like padpin clips, spring clips, padpins, and other small stuff like that or will that all come with the new calipers i am going to buy. I was planning on buying the following from boostdesigns....Z32 front crossdrilled rotors and 240sx rear crossdrilled rotors with axxis racing pads for front and rear. stainless braided lines in front to convert to 300zx calipers and stainless matching stock replacements for the rear. totally changes your brake system to race quality you will notice an immediant change in performance and stopping distance......and i was going to order new or remanufactured calipers from another site.......Will this be everything i need or will i also have to order that small stuff? If so what is all the "small" stuff i will need???

Thanx guys, i really appreciate it

The only things I can think of off hand would be the bleeder valves and/or banjo bolts. I just finished doing my z32 swap on my s14. I used the banjo bolts off the stock calipers and they work fine. Stopping power is DEFINATELY noticable. Once I get the slotted rotors in and on it should be down a third from stock!

You need a shim kit too as the calipers will most likely come without the pads. I think courtesy has the hardware kit for like $50. Don't bother looking for the shims at your local parts store...I tried em all and they all said "dealer only". Anyway, I assume you have aftermarket wheels?

speed bleeder would definitely come in handy if this is a one person job.

You do not need a shim kit if you buy pads with shim already attached like Axxis... (what I have) I just applied those brake grease and done.

You have to make sure your wheels will clear floating calipers like the Z32 brakes. If your offset is too high or have a bad spoke design... then you will be pissed. better to find out now than after you buy all your parts only to realize you cant install it...

your calipers should come with bleeder screw... Maybe he meant one of those speeder valves (correct me if im wrong)

How can i check to see if my rims will clear? They are some no name rims...like rage or something.(came with the car). Also i will have to redrill the rotors to the 4 bolt pattern, is this hard? I am assuming i just mark the holes and put the rotor under a drill press?

this picture courtesy of http://importnut.net/300zxbrakeswap.htm

gives you an approximate size of the caliper.. make sure you have room behind the rim

Whoa....the Axxis come with shims attached? Even the $39 pair that HT sells? If so, you just saved me $50 sir...

Your rims won't clear those calipers... sorry.

Most no-name rims do not have big brakes in mind when they're designing the wheel. You may have to invest in spacers/wheel studs, or settle with 26mm calipers that *might* clear.

Hrm, I want to do this too. . . But I got 18 inch wheels, how can you tell if they will work without spacers? They only say offset when you buy them, not distance between the spokes(or whatever not kid-bycicle term it's call) and the calipers O_o;

And why do you have to redrill the roters? Can't you just buy the correct hole'd rotors in the correct width and diamiter?

You have to redrill the rotors because the 300zx did not come in 4 lug. Therefor the 300zx rotors must be re drilled to the 4 lug bolt pattern to fit a 4 lug 240sx. So im screwed on my rims? Anyone know cheap rims that will work with the 30mm conversion? I doubt stock ones will, right?

90 bucks for a pair of 95 300zx calipers reasonable? I found this at local junk yard.

They'll need to be rebuilt but that's an OK price.

I'll be doing this install very soon, going to order clips, springs, pins tommorow actually from nissan. Also you may want to upgrade your brake master cylinder pushing 8pistons is harder than pushing 2.I'm trying to remember one of my fellow buddies once ran the calipers and it did barely clear stock s13 rims..certain style.Drilling yep, I ran Q45s on my old s14 4lug. I have a regular 1/2" drill and titanium or zinc nitrate bits, place old rotor over new one, marker, center punched, lined it up..voila..Email me if u need help/advice [email protected]

Upgrade to 5lug while you're in there. More wheels to choose from including OEM Nissan.

Used..I wouldn't skimp on that just pick up a new one..either 300zx or 200sx one which works and is priced less. I will be running a '86 200sx bmc its been tested and proven by a few guys I know. Autozone sells it for 70- there is also a core return that you can possibly get to work 30-.
