another z31 problem

so heres my problem. my car started and ran fine as far as electrical. i have a new battery, but today it rained and i went out to move my car and it wont start. the starter just clicks. if i jump it it starts fine. i tried to let it run a little to charge the alt. but as soon as i turn it off and try to start it again it just clicks. i never had problems till today after it rained. is my alt. sh**?

fist of all check you battery cables at both ends, make sure your getting a good connection, if the cables are tight and not severly corroded then most likely you need a new batery, also you can go to autozone and have them test it for free, they can even do a charging system check up but if it were the voltage regulator (internally regulated alternator) it would restart right after shutting off but after it sits a while it would loose the charge, and if it were the charging function of the alternator it wouldn't keep running after being jumped (at least not for long) also your charging gauge would show that the alternator wasn't charging

yeah that makes sence because my car drives fine once its jumped
