Back in March I finally (after 23 years of wanting), picked up my first Z. A 1990 Canadian NA. I am the 7th owner. The car currently has 123,000 km on it. Verified through the past owner records. Every year in Ontario when you renew your plate sticker you have to list your mileage. Plus the driver's seat has minimal wear in it. it had some front end damage from a recent collision and after tearing the bumper cover off it appeared to have suffered a previous collision. Evidence was a hole/tear in the aluminum reinforcement bar that was not present on the current bumper cover. Ran an insurance background and found nothing to show any major collisions or wright-offs. Both headlight housings and the nose panel were also broken. First stop was a local JDM dealer for a TT front bumper cover and nose panel. A local Z mechanic supplied a used set of headlights (my third set after horrible ebay experiences), and the front reinforcement bar. I then tore the interior out of it for a good cleaning as it looked like someone had lived in it at some point. A TON of dog hair too! The car also had some rear end damage from a curb impact that bent the right rear rim and lower control arm. Once again, local Z mechanic to the rescue with spare used parts. I also tore out an aftermarket remote starter/power lock/power hatch release Bulldog system. The installer butchered the wiring all up and cut a bunch of s*** to make everything work. Result was a bad ground and battery drain somewhere. After removal and installation of a new battery she fires up on first crank every time. Here is a list of everything that I fixed or replaced so far. I am quite proud as I did this all myself.

Interior:
Rear Center Hatch Panel Lower and Upper One on Hatch
New Rear Hatch Release Cable
Fixed Hatch Light Problem
New T-Top Finishers
New Jack and Spare Tire
Repaired Power Seat on Drivers Side
New Brake Light Harness

Replaced All Fuses
New Double DIN Radio Bezel
Installed Bluetooth Microphone for Future Head Unit

New E-Brake Pads and Spring Kit
New Rotors and Brakes
Deleted Head Lamp Washer System and Replaced 3 Pump WW Tank with Used 2 Pump System

New Drivers Side Door Handle Finisher
All New Locks and Keys
4 New Tires
New Battery
New Positive and Negative Battery Cables (Battery to Starter and Battery to transmission Ground) PIA!!!!
New Back Up Camera For Future Head Unit

Still Needs:
Safety and Emissions Test
Paint Job and minor body work
Transmission Pan Gasket and Filter
All Other Fluids and Filters Changed
I Think I need A New PTU. Not Broken Yet but I am sure I have the Old Style
New Coils
Front Suspension Bushings
120 K Timing Belt and Pulleys done
Radiator doesn't look so hot. Not sure yet
Leather Seat Covers (No tears in drivers. Passenger side look like it got wet at some point and the center of the seat shrunk and pulled the corners all out. Faded too)
Front Drivers Side Floor Mat
Clarion NX602 Head Unit
New Speakers (2 Fronts work. 2 Rears Nada. Bose so likely blown amps)

Here she is out of the garage for the first time since I brought her home:

Can you spot the aftermarket power lock actuators that had the door locks completely messed up?

I just can't get over how excited I am to finally be driving it by mid-July. It is no small amount of thanks either that I pass on to everyone here who has directly or indirectly helped me get this far. Many a night I have been browsing and searching on this forum and others to come up with solutions or How-To's. My hat is off to you all. THANKS!!!

And thanks For Looking!

Evan
