so its been raining all day,and i get a call from my gf that she hydroplaned and hit a fence.so i hop in my car and head out that way.i go around a curb goin about 60,which is probably faster than i should have because its a tad sharp and my back tires dont have too much tread left.the back starts sliding out so i slightly countersteer it and think i have it but i starts going the other way.i fish tail for a while and go sideways through a field through a barbed wire fence and slam into a pole.i hit hard enough to send my radar detector out the window and 10 feet away.cars fixable but idk if i have the time or money to fix it.radiator support is screwed, and the barbed wire cut through my licence plate and spoiler.ill get more pics tomorrow.im just glad im alright because i wasnt wearing a seatbelt and im seriously lucky my tires didnt dig into the ground and send me flipping.man,i never thought id be creating this thread

thats where the drivers side corner light was and thats the passengers

I already felt sorry for you but those words right there say it all. Very sad man, best of luck with whatever you're going to do with it. And maybe you know now anyway, but wear a seatbelt next time dude -- sucks that your car was wrecked but you could have seriously injured yourself and could have been killed, and that would have been a much worse tragedy. Glad you're all right though. Live and learn.

It doesn't look that bad. I'm sure you could fix it.

Keep your chin up.

tough luck d00d, just remember, safety belt is always there, even though you didnt see this thread coming, at least you lived to remember another day.

is it just me, or does every s13 have the same front end damage as mine? I have 2 that have front quarter panel/bumper damage, driver side...

thanks everyone for the support.im definitely wearing my seatbelt from now on.as for the car,its definitely fixable, its just gonna take quite a bit of work.i dont know what im gonna do.i might buy a shell and transfer stuff or i might just part it out.this was my first car and even though it was stock ive spent countless hours fixing stuff and working on it and it kills me to see her in this condition

AH MAN! I know exactly how you feel about that. My first baby died to Deer. Like i always say, you can replace a car, you cannot replace a life!

If the bags didn't pop bro - Make sure you inspect the car fully to actually see what damage is there. Then rebuild what you need to.

The radiator support is going to have to welded in, in 4 spots. But you can source one FAIRLY easily. You may have to search for a bit tho, and wait a bit longer.

I'd like to get a few parts off you if you end up not fixing it! I'm sure a ton of us would to.

You maybe able to make more off the car to part it, then pull the motor and stick in a coupe or hatch.

If you pull the motor make sure you keep all the A/C stuff in-tac and together, also, make sure you pull the stock exhaust in 1 piece. People in Cali are in dire need of things like stock exhaust and emissions.

Watch that rain bro!!

yea i know, very dumb mistake.ive taken the turn faster before which is why i thought i had it.but i know now,and im not making the mistake again.and idk why i wasnt wearing a seatbelt.pure stupidity.im seriously lucky i walked away.i was sliding through a field sideway for about 60+ feet over little humps and stuff.if my wheels had dug in i would have flipped and i wouldnt be typing this right now

i really do want to.i dont wanna sound all sentimental but i just sat in it earlier and i wanted to cry because i couldnt believe id done that to my car.im 17,i know absolutely nothing about body work or welding.i got the 1/4 panel off and its bent up bad,but the axels and all the suspension stuff is fine.i could drive it if i had to.i just dont know if i need to heat the metal up under the panel and bend it or cut it and reweld metal from another car.my school is offering welding classes next semester and i was gonna learn to weld then, but i cant be without a car til then
