ok, so I finally got my engine running again after swaping in an SR T25. I was out for a test run and my MAFS wire fell onto the ex mani and burht the sheilding to the black wire, the car died and won't start again. I have replace the wire and made sure there were no other crispy wires. I tried to star t it again, still nothing, just turns over and over. I did a compression check and was 150 across all cyl. I also disconnected my SAFC that seems to not want to come on unless I switch to another ECU, but even with the new ECU in I still see the no start issue. any ideas on what it could be. I have spark and fuel. infact I have a new Walbro.

Depending on which mafs wire was grounded to the manifold, it's possible that your ecu was damaged. Do you know which one it was?

Thanks, I also check the fuel pressure at the line in to the FPR I was getting 35-40 PSI, I am suspecting no spark, I thought I had it but now I am not sure, seems to not even try and start.

Have you tried starting fluid? Also did you replace the mafs wire with shielded wire or regular? My friend had problem with cold starts on his RB because when he lengthend the mafs wire he didnt use shielded.

No I haven't tried starting fluid, dumb question but how do I make that work, doesn't the system need to be seald? or is it just a way to see if it fires?

have you checked your fuses? does your ecu "LED" turn on when the ignition is on, I would highly suggest to check your fuses under the hood as well as under the dash.

run a dignostic on the ecu and see if it gives you a code.Cheers,

Double check fuel and spark. This will atleast narrow down what system isnt working properly.

If you shorted out the maf and fried the circuit in the ecu the engine should still run but in limp mode just like it would if the maf wasnt hooked up. Or atleast this is normally what happens.

ok, so I checked all connections, ran some starting fluid, she fired rigght up.Check for injector voltage, there was none. I went throught the fuses again, noticed that the Eng Cont fuse in the engine bay block didn't look right, so pulled it and looked at it very closely, sure enough it was blown, I replaced it and BAM she fired right up.

the best way to check fuses is to use a multi meter and check for continuity, sometimes blown fuses are hard to catch.

yeah, I found that out, odd thing is I found a mouse living in my car.. and I think he has been stealing fuses, there were 4 missing from the kick panel block. I have no recolection of taking them out.
