another wierd sound please help

i searched but i found nothing quite like this please help...

i have koni shocks and eibach pro-kit in the back, and whenever i hit bumps or an uneven surface the nut on the top of the shaft on the shock is hitting the inside top of the strut tower. why is this???? it makes kind of a rattling sound, i took the cutouts off of the paneling, and i actually saw it so i know thats what it is. are shocks supposed to move up and down that much?? :help
