Before I get flamed I need to ask one question..

( I have searched the forum and could not find a clear answer)

What is the maximum offset our cars ( A/C 3.5 or 2.5 ) can have?I don't understand how you calculate what can and cannot work. If there is a calculation please throw it my way and ill figure it out if not.. Ill need advice.

So i understand that our cars run with +45mm offsets. I'm planning to purchase 18x 8 rims with I dont know what tires ( The dealer is deciding what will fit on them) that are +37 offset. Will +37 fit on a lowered A/C? or should i fit it with +45 and remain with the stock configuration?

Thanks alot guys.

BTW 18x 8 Tenzo type m's with Falken FK 452.

Lol. I've been studying those all day and understand what offset means but how do i know if +37 will rub?

I will have my car lowered by Eibach's with a +37 offset, I want to know if they will rub.

Also, Since our cars stock are +45 offset is it recommended that I stick with the factory offset? I've been reading a bit and it seems that any other offset thats not the factory will cause premature wear. I track my car a few times in the summer, will a +37 offset add extra wear to all the joints and etc?

The reason I'm asking about +37 is because the dealer told me that it would look really good on our cars. Which got me thinking. I also asked him what are the cons of different offset and he said none. I'm not too sure about that. If I get an alignment done will it basically make the car ride like normal? normal wear and all?

Thanks for all the help guys.

The work xt7's I have are 18x8.5 with a +38 offset it should not rub, but to put it all in perspective

Your wheels will go in by 5mm and stick out an extra 21mm from where they are.

mine I believe will stick out 26mm.

From what I can gather 35mm is the lowest one should go on a lowered ride.

Assuming you have stock 17x7s, you're moving the outside of your rim out by approx. 21mm. If it looks like it'll fit with whatever width tires you choose, go for it.

I'm pretty sure there are some here that have 18x8 +35's with a drop and no issues... can't remember if they're flush or barely tucked though. I'd check out the members' rides thread for ideas on offset.

One of my more important questions.. Since i Don't think i will rub because im doing 18's is ... Does the offset affect the performance of the vehicle? will it be really hard on the joints when im cornering on a track and etc?
