i was going to get a new car tomorow, it was a 96 black 240, 5 speed, it was 5900. My dad finaly agreed to get me a loan for a car for my birthday so i could basicaly get what i wanted knowing that i would have the payments every month, and i found that 240 but i just called the place today and the guy told me the car was just sold:(

so now i have the option of another car and i dont know what to get, i wanted a s14 but i cant find any other in my price range in my area...so basicly i want something somewhat fast in its stock form b/c it will be a while before i make any big mods(like engine swap or turbo) but im not as much into speed as into somthing that looks good and will catch your eye when you see it(dont get me wrong i want it to be fast but not the fastest car in town or anything like that, and i dont plan on puttin on a body kit by the way). right now i have a s13 that im about to sell for 2800, and i was planing on usin that money to put in the black 240 but thats not happenin now and i basicly already sold the s13 and ima need a car so i need to find one to get now, thats why im askin what do you guys suggest, or is there any people in VA that know of any s14 s for sale or know of any other cars that would be good for my preference.

i was lookin at the integras b/c i like the way they look and i hear they are pretty quick but im still not sure, i know this is my choice but any opinions would probly be helpful form people who know more about cars.....oh and the reason why im sellin my s13 is b/c i dont particularly like the body style and its an auto .

hey man this is a 240 board, so I think the responses you get are going to be a little one sided...

example:

why dont you wait a little for a good s14. I know they're somewhat rare and hard to find, but try going to autotrader and being a little liberal with the search radius. It's worth it to drive a little ways for a good buy, in my opinion.

be patient man. there are plenty of people on this board who have waited 6 months or more for the perfect car, and I doubt anyone regrets it after having found the car of their dreams.

well im goin on my 9th month of lookin for the perfect car and i found it but i was unfortunatley too late , waiting for the loan and all..but the thing is ima have to get another car now and i could just get a beater and keep savin and waitin but next year is my senior year in highschool and i kinda wanted to have a nice car for when i graduate and throughtout my final year in school, just though it would be nice..so i wanted to get a car that is fast and looks good , i have a price limitation of about 6000 and ima need a car within the next month, so thats why i was askin about other cars also just to broaden my search category, i know this is a 240 board but i know that not everyone on thsi board owns a 240 so maybe they have suggestions of hte cars they own and if it would be good for me, you see what im sayin, im not askin anyone to make my mind up fo rme im jsut asking for helpful opinions, thanks in advance

Just keep your eye out, it shouldnt take you that long to find another good deal. Dont settle for another car you dont really want, you'll kick yourself in the *** if you do. I say hold out for another S14.

S14... mmm... me like S14. I want one personally, and so I'm a little biased, so I say maybe widen your seach a little and try to find one with the little time you apparently have.edit: check autotrader.com, I found a few within 300 miles, and GA sucks as far as finding 240s, they seem really rare here...

Why don't you buy Repo's 240?

It's in great shape, you'd have some cash left over for more mods or to save, and you'd be keeping it in the family!

I like mr2's personally and think they have allot of potential, i have also not seen allot of them around, let alone tuned mr's.

Repo and I are both sellin are cars, repo has one sweet s13, and mine of course is a s14. You should really really look at repos s13 for sale in the bull/sell/trade forums.

Anyways about s14vs.integvs.mr2 if you are gonna be on a budget I would def. not consider a mr2 due to it being a turbo, and all turbo's require more maitnience "sp?, i suck at spelling".

The integra's are nice but are TORQULESS!!! They have a truly high reving motor, some with vtec "but that only kicks in at 5750" and they body style on them are hot!

The s14 is a moderate horsepower motor with a truly sweet torque powerband, availalbe through I beleive "don't quote me" anywhere from 2500 to 4800 rpms. The reliabilty of the motor is obviously the best out of all 3 choices and requires the least amount of maint. If you want my opinion on style....well the s14 devours all other choices so far.

P.S. If you are serious about the integ, think of this also...two words.... OVER PRICED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

man i almost know how you felt about that black 240. i had been looking at my 240 at a dealer for about 3 months. finally when i had the money to get it i went to the dealer and it was gone! i had just looked at it the night before. i talked to a salesman and he said that a wholsaler came in that morning and bought it. i was so angry! but the wholsaler had not picked up the car yet and it was in the back. so the salesman called the guy and i guess talked him into not buying the car or whatever, but anyways everything turned out good and i got my car. i know how hard it is to find them, especially if you are not around any big cities like me. i have not seen another s14 for sale in a year since i bought mine, but good luck on finding your car.

I had a green 96 se it got totaled by some lady in a suburban turned around in her seat messin with her baby. Well i spent all of June trying to find an s14a. Well i finally found one with good miles and a good price in St. Louis and im in Texas so my dad and I flew up there and drove 11 hours back in the middle of the night with my new 1997 pearl white 240sx se 5spd abs lsd moonroof, everything i wanted.

s14s are hard to find but when you love them so much you dont want anything else and wont buy anything else

i say stick wit the S13 or go with the MR2 turbo. i wasgoign to buy one in the fall utnil "THINGs" came up HMMM HAAAA!! don't get the SE-R. to me i don't think they are even worth having. Besides the interior and rims what good is the car. It has like what 175hp with a 6spd gear box. for what?! It should of just stuck wit a 5spd.

I say wait til u find the one u want, I looked almost 9 months for my S-14, I was gonna get a Blue 96 after about 6 months of searching cause i was tired of looking, but when I went to get it, it was gone but they had a white 97 and wanted way too much for it. So then i looked for like another 3 months and found my Black 98. I think the wait was well worth it.
