My wife was just at our local Nissan Dealership with the Versa for an oil change. She asked about a roof rack and she was told that Nissan still doesn't have one for the Versa. I know a few people on here have gotten aftermarket racks in the past, but there seems to be some debate as to which one fits the best. Right now I'm looking at both Thule and Yakima systems. I will be installing a Yakima Big Powderhound ski/snowboard holder on whichever rack I buy. I would really appreciate any feedback or advice on these racks (or any other options I didn't mention). Oh, and pictures would be great if possible. Thanks!

I believe that pictures and discussion are available in many previous threads that should turn up with the search button which you probably know based on the title of your thread. I have the Thule; works great.

Yes, I am aware of the previous threads because I did search for them. The older existing threads are full of things like "get it through a Nissan dealer" - I tried that. They tell me there is no such rack. There's also a lot of debate in the existing threads between Thule and Yakima. I guess that's good because if one was really bad, I guess people would say so.

Here in Canada they are available from the dealer, but the parts manager warned me that they don't fit properly and recommended the Thule aftermarket rack.

Hope this helps.

I buy Thule just because I have years worth of bike racks, ski racks etc. I buy from rackattack.com. For Thule you need the Fit Kit for the Versa, the feet and the bars. If you go to this link you can size everything for your Versa. http://www.rackattack.com/thul...x.asp

You need Fit Kit 2183 and 400XT Aero Foot Pack and 53 inch bars. However, use the sizing to double check. You will get two options; the older style which is a little bit cheaper (foot pack mentioned above) than the newer lighter weight aero bars. I have had good luck buying bits and pieces from ebay also once I know what I need. Fred
