Car: Versa 1.8 Manual

Post

At long last, I know I've been stalking the boards and the net for a while but finally I'm a Versa owner! My other car that was driving fine decided to basically die on me today so it forced my hand and ate up the $2,000 it was worth on the side of the road! I went and traded in what was left running on the other car and walked out 2 hours later in a nice new Versa.

I got the sapphire blue (think that's what they called it) charcoal interior, manual gearbox, windows/locks..etc just the base 1.8. Really nice car for the money I mean I actually want to sit in the back if someone was driving!

I paid all in $12,888 out the door, I did however trade in my car I got $750 for it they applied the $1250 cash back. That also included the VPP code that Promise Land was good enough to help me with, thanks again for that! I owe you a few beers at the very least either here in Florida or back home in Ireland! So now I'm struggling to get used to a manual gearbox again! I just need to drive it a bit to get the feel for the gears I'm still used to 90's style manuals lol God the last manual I drove over here was a 98 Saturn and I had to fight it into first.. then drag it into second lol

That new car is like a whole different world next to my old 98 Tracer.. it picks up speed when I step on the "gas" lol It basically quite inside when running, I don't hear anything but the A/C tick on and off now and then. Driving is really nice, smooth. That car fees massive inside next to my old one. I could easily sleep in it! I'm very impressed! Now to have the windows tinted! lol I'll post some pictures when I get time to take some!

Thanks again everyone for all your advice and help

YAY!I'm so happy for you. You have been posting on here for such a long time about wanting a Versa and now you have one!!!CONGRATS! Post pics of the new baby!

And that seems like a really good price!!!! If we could get that good of pricing here, I think my dad would buy himself one for his daily driver!

Yes I bought at Lake Nissan, didn't seem like bad people at all once we didn't have to fight over the price lol.. Yes they are only about 30 minutes away from me so the first dealership I stopped at. Talked to the others and prices where about the same give or take $100 so kept it a local deal in the end. Yes we may see each other about.. look for someone struggling with the gears on a blue Versa

Welcome to the mess.

Tint and rear sway bar are my 2 first recommendations for a fresh new Versa.

Nice. If you think that drives smooth, you should test drive a CVT just for fun. It's really nice and relaxing. It doesn't have that "fun factor" of a manual though that some people still like so enjoy!

Yes a tint is what I'll need to get in a few months once I'm over christmas! I've heard the CVT is really, really nice. If I had the credit I'd went for the SL model in a heartbeat but I got a 1.8 S bare bones and I have to say that thing is perfect! I don't even hear it running when I start it.. I thought this was a basic entry level car? lol

Mine will be looking like that until at least after Christmas. I need to get the windows tinted to start. After that I'll have bits added here and there.
