First off, before people yell at me to search, I don't know what to search for, because this is, in fact, an unkown part. I'm mounting a FMIC and so I yanked off the front bumper. On the center brace that the hood latch is mounted on there is some small sensor or electronic device. It's about 5 inches below the hood latch. At first glance I thought it was the horn, but then I saw the horn and felt kind of stupid. There are two wires going into it. The only thing that I could possibly think of is that it could be a temprature sensor that measures the temprature of the air before it flows through the heat exchangers. I just want to know what it is so that I can know if it's safe for me to relocate it to a position that isn't in the way so much.

I can take pictures if needed, but I'm kinda lazy so I'll do that only if nobody can tell me what it is.

BTW I drive a 93 hatchback with a soon to be completed blacktop S13 SR20 swap.

It's the ambient temperature switch. If the Temperature is too low it keeps the A/C from turnng on.

What is SRS?

Well, since I'm eliminating my AC system would it be safe to say that I can just remove it without having to relocate it? I don't have a condensor, a/c pump, or any of the lines. I WAS going to relocate it because it's interfering with my intercooler mounting but now I'm just thinking removal is a better option.

air temp sensor like was said before. if you've removed the AC then it's useless so take it out.

...or in a word: airbags. But as mentioned above, it's an ambient air temp sensor. Relocate or remove as necessary...

Air bag harnesses and sensor connectors in the 90's are either bright yellow or bright orange.

the sensor is an ambient temp sensor as mentioned above.
