Ok I made a thread a while back about the differences in the truck block vs the 240 block and got the info I needed but now of course I have another question. I am getting the bottom end only from an early '90's hardbody so there arent any head issues as I will be reusing mine, but I would like to use floating wrist pins instead of the truck's standard press fit ones. If I were to buy a set of reconditioned 240 rods they should work with no problem right ? I am not sure exactly what brand of pistons I will use, but I will definately use high compression 240 style pistons that utilize floating wrist pins. Of course this still depends on if the truck engine I am getting is reusable, but if so then I will rebuild it and use it for a while as I rebuild my original engine to be capable of around 300-400hp. Since the amount of time that will pass between my install of the rebuilt N/A truck engine and the install of my beefed up and turbo'ed original engine is indefinite I am going to make the truck engine as powerful as possible to keep me happy.

if i am correct in assuming you are talking about the sohc engine, putting a truck block in your s13 isn't going to happen unless you either get a truck transmission, or truck bell housing to go with it. The truck block doesn't mate with the s13 transmission (at least 5 speed anyway).

just get the rod and piston(same as hardbodypiston) from a 240kae(high comp). or reconditioned 240sxrods. you will have pan and oil pickup tube issues as well as the starter issue. still doable

As far as oil pump pickup and oil pan I was under the impression that I could just bolt up the 240 ones ? Also, what is the issue with the starter ? Does it bolt up different ? I know the block is missing a couple bolts for the trans but I was thinking the starter bolted through the bellhousing but I cant remember it has been ages since I have had the starter off.
