I posted a day or two ago about replacing my trans. I thought (think) that my syncros were going out but i'm not so sure. when i shift from first to second, the trans makes this incredible screeching noise. however, it does it only occasionally and the noise ceases as soon as I let the clutch pedal up. it does it when going into reverse sometimes too. as far as i know, grinding syncros don't usually screech really loud. it's more of a grind that you can feel right? the loud shreiking noise being dependant on the clutch position makes me think it's one of the bearings (release or pilot). anybody concur with this?? thanks

I can't say for sure but definitely sounds like a a clutch issue.

pilot bushing is nothing more than a metal ring. if you dont have one all the gears grind bad. make sure your slave cylinder is working right, but it could be the throwout.
