so i went to the track again today (1 year since i had my coupe) and my best time of the night was a 14.1. pretty much what happened was that my friend was determined to go so i was like ok what ever, ill go..... despite the fact it was 100 degrees out!!!!!!!! lol ya in the 100 degree runs all i could do were 14.6. then it cooled down more and i hit the 14.1 and then it cooled down even more (about 75 to 80 degrees) and i was running a little faster then the 14.1 and then at 80 MPH my car completely lets off the gas and i hella slowed down. turns out 1/4 tank isn't enough gas for a track day lol so i got a 14.3 @ 85 MPH lol but ya, if it's 60 degrees out and the exhaust is unbolted after the cat, our 3.5se altima coupes can do 13.9 (CVT)

Dude, take your stock intake with u, and bolt it up after you do the injen intake run. I want to see if my theory is right

Okay man ill either take my stock intake with me to the track and do a couple of runs with it and a few runs without it if I can switch them out; or if not there are three other Altima coupes that will be going with us to the track. One of them has the Stillen exhaust with the stock intake so we will see how our numbers differ.

You mean that the Altima factory intake is just as good as the aftermarket one?

I know it sounds really shady, but give the idea a chance at the track. After I sold my Injen, for the turbo project, the car pulled harder and accelerated noticeably quicker. I know its hard to believe, but I wouldn't just make that up

I was hiding behind the couch because some haters have popped in before concerning the factory airbox being majorly restrictive

Remember, I wrote the dyno article http://www.nicoclub.com/articles/dyno-game.shtml

I believe adidas and am sure that what he is saying is true, but as he said before, the quality and good sound that the aftermarket intake gives you surpases the slight performance lost. Now I understand that anyone who is truly about performance doesnt want to lose any performance, but adding an aftermarket intake is not going to give you any significant gain in power anyway. Still a good bolt on though, and will be critical in performance gains once you began to obtain all bolt-ons and then the intake system makes a needed difference.

Yup, I agree with that article 100%. I posted those exact same thoughts a few months ago, in an Injen thread, resulting in an argument with my sponsor

I like the sound and look of my Injen intake but I know I didn't get any supposed 15hp increase. In fact, it probably hurts me at top-end because it's "sucking air through a straw" at that point. My car was quicker in the 1/4 with the factory airbox.

We had some interesting arguments with Ormand before he decided to go complain somewhere else last year. I can't seem to find the stupid threads tho....

Actually, here is one: http://forums.altimas.org/zerothread?id=271988
