ok so tomorrow me and my friend's are planning on going to the track.... i want to hit a 14.3 with my stock CVT A/C and i already hit a 14.4. so i want some quick little upgrades..... my friend is stripping out his interior in his SRT-4 lol i'm just taking out my spare tire and going with 1/4 tank of gas. a couple of my friends told me to take out my air filter and run it with no air filter.... another friend said not to. do you guys know and negatives or anything about running it with no air filter? lol

so far we have my car, my friend's SRT-4, my friends Nissan Silvia, fire bird, maybe a G35 coupe, maybe a STi (if he comes after work), and maybe a new GTi.

this time my friend is bringing his camera so hopefully ill have vids up in a couple days (he lags a lot with vids lol)

dont remove your air filter...you can have something get in their and **** up your car...but if you really want to get down take the morning time to remove some of the seats...i dont think it'll be that hard...also you might want to drop your front tire pressure to like 20-22 psi...also before you go practice burning out...try to get your launch method down....also you want the engine to be cool when running so the car will be running at open loop rather than closed loop (closed loop is when your ecu lowers your compression ratio to have the cats work effeiciently) so its not a bad idea to out a bag of ice on your block to cool it before you run...if every thing is done right you can get 14.2 probably....

DONT FORGET TO VIDEO TAPE!

video tape is a MUST! if my friend forgets his cam, ill make him go back home and get it..... he might even bring both of his cams lol the tire pressure thing my friend was also talking about. the bag of ice, i saw that on a supercharged SRT8 the last time i went lol tomorrow is supposed to be a cold day with no rain so even better lol you live in cali so you know they only pump 91 gas BUT there is 1 gas station that you can get 100 from the pump but it's like $6 or $8 a gallon..... my friend is going to get some and mix it with the 91 that's already in his car..... i might try and do the same

Im sure you can get about a 14.3 with the removal of some dead weight. A buddy of mine took his 08 Altima CVT Sedan down the track one night with 2 bags of golf clubs and some bowling balls in the trunk and got a 15.5 he was just messing around though.

That's what I like to hear man.. That's the first actual drag time I've read for the 2.5 besides car and driver.

i ALREADY hit a 14.4 last time so i ALREADY got CLOSE to 14.3...... removing my back seat, adding a little bit of 100 oct gas, and maybe messing with the tire pressure might get me .1 secs down.

I think he was talking at not being able to get a 14.3 for a 2.5S, not your car.

NO ****ING WAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! right after i posted that, my brother came in my room and said he's taking my car to work because someone slashed the tires on his corvette! some ****ing *** holes in my neighbor hood are like ****in after us or something (well, the corvette at least). they already cut his convertible top, which he hasn't fixed yet so he has to drive my car when it rains. this is total ****ing bull ****!!! i'm soooooooo pissed! after i made all those plans..... i gotta drive my dad's benz now cuz my dad doesn't trust my brother with it. this sucks sooooo bad!

but on the brighter side, last night i checked out the back seat (couldn't remove it because i have to pick up my nephew from school). the bottom part of the back seat is held in by a clip on each side. after you un-clip it the bottom of the back seat comes out. then i noticed a large black metal piece with probably 6-10 bolts. i think you take those out and thats it.... don't get a chance to do it today cuz some ****ing *** holes decided to slash my brother's tires.

Didn't think I needed to spell it out cus there's no way a 2.5 is getting anywhere near a 15 sec 1/4 with a couple of mods.

oh. sorry lol

well my brother gets off work at 6:00 and will be home at 6:30. the track is open from 5pm to 10pm so if everything goes good ill be at the track at 7pm...... i'm really thinking about the ice on the engine cuz my brother works like 30 miles away and its sorta warm right now.

about not putting the cars in the garage, my dad's Mercedes is in 1 garage, my brother's Harley Davidson V-rod is in another along with all the workout equipment. then the other garage is full of **** because we haven't been living here long and my mom wanted to buy like everything when we got this house and my dad bought it for her and then she changed her mind lol so we got like a sofa and random **** in the garage lol it's not a bad neighborhood, people have corvettes, vipers, EVERYONE has either a benz or BMW..... most people put there cars in the garage though.... we just have too many cars lol my coupe, the benz, the corvette, the 07 Maxima, the F150 lol

In my spec-v, my best time was 14.992...took a sh**load of mods.CAI, header, exhaust, balance shaft removed, lightened flywheel, lightened underdrive pully, ported throttle body, back seat removed, everything in trunk removed.

I consistently ran 15.1's and 15.0's...with a better driver...could have prolly broke into 14.8's

i have seen a stock spec-v factory freak run 14.9....my mouth just dropped.

about my track day, my brother took waaaaaaay too long with my car and i was debating if i should even go or not..... but i told you guys i was going so i felt obligated lol paid $15 and finally got my 1st run when they were closing lol the guy felt bad for me since i waited in a long line and everything so he let me run 1 more time so i got 2 runs in total lol if my brother didn't take my car i would have gotten like 6+ runs lol i was having a ****ty day so i didnt perform too well, didn't decrease any weight BUT i did have my friend's tool box in my car so i added weight lol my 1st run was a 14.44 @ 96.471 MPH. my friend got this run on film and then left so the 2nd one wasn't on film. 2nd one i got a really bad take off against a Lexus GS that was going for a 14.3 (the time i wanted lol) and i caught up and passed him, super close race though. i ended with a 14.5 @96.907 MPH. if everything goes good, ill have the vid up by friday (my friend lags lol)
