I just wanted to ask if anyone could tell me what the smallest tires are that can be stretched on 18x8.5 and 18x9.5 wheels. Thanks for any info.

It totally depends on the tire, and where you drive your car. Why do you want a rediculous stretch anyways?

I want the stretch for some fun, plus it'll make the 18's look less big on my S13. I know 18's are pretty ridiculous for any action, but I'm getting them for pretty much free, so I'm going for it. For tires, I'll probably be going with Kumho, unless I find something cheaper.

They are 18s. You don't need to stretch to have like no sidewall flex, because you will be running ultra ultra low profile tires. If you must, run 225 front and 235 rear. Anything smaller would be stupid.

Actually I would just do 245 rear. 235 is already a decent stretch on a 9.

Either way, good luck trying to spin those wheels. It's gonna totally suck for handling.

"kuhmo, unless i find anything cheaper"

repeat after me:

"i do not want cheap tires, i do not want cheap tires, i do not want cheap tires"

the most important part on the car is not the one to spend the least money on

and yes, those sizes, absoulte minimum, more is better

Werd. However, he is already kinda screwing himself over with 18s.

4n:

Don't you have 7 spokes?? Just spend the money on some really good tires for those.

I do. We usually just take/steal tires from the used tire bin at a certain tire store (they'd get thrown out anyway). My other option are some 15x7 +0 wheels, this is just a decision that I haven't been able to sleep over for weeks, though I'm starting to lean more and more towards the 15's, since I get free tires for them, but I'm still having a tough time deciding.
