Reading dasoupdude thread reminded me about my system.

ok, How do I go about checking my Tire pressure using the onboard TPMS gauge?

On my drive home from the dealer, my low tire pressure light came on. I went to the gas station and checked my tire pressure, and all were at the recommended tire pressure. The manual stated that it would turn off automatically. I waited a few days and I decided to take her to the dealer. When I got it back the light was off.

So how do I know the tpms is still working?

I've pressed the button on the cluster, and I don't see any numbers that resemble looking like tire pressure.

Many Thanks!!

Generally speaking if its working, there is no dash light indicating there is a problem. The TPMS usualy requires you to start moving the car before it sends a signal out to the car. Drive around a bit and then check the reading. If its not there, take it back to the dealer.

Well I thought there was a way to check the pressure using the gauge on the gauge cluster.

Wait? They dropped the Tire pressure gauge readout on the center gauge cluster? How dissappointing.

I should make a new observation. I just put some new-to-me Titan wheels on my truck without any TPMS sensors in them and no warning light came on. Perhaps it doesn't come on if no sensors are detected.

That said, a real easy way to check TPMS operation would be to drop pressure to a little under 28 psi. I think it will trigger once you hit about 20-25 mph. Make sure you increase pressure to the recommended pressure once you finish testing the operation.

That's exactly what I wanted to know. Thank you!

I will go drop the pressure to see if the system is still functioning though.

Have a good one!

Thanks,Albert
