Im pretty sure this has been dsicussed before--but im bringing it back up again...

Im going to try this thing out and be another test dummy. I have heard, like everyone else, that ssautochrome makes CRAP. But hey--this thing looks better, they have changed the materials from a mixed alloy--to stainless. The welds and design look good, and its tubular and equal length. So im gonna order it. Heres the thing---I want to know what everyone thinks about it--that way, when i get it on--i can adress all concerns and help to set everyone at ease--or confirm what they thought.

This should bo pretty easy to install. Im trying to find a great bolt on product so people wont have to sue JGS all the time---they make great products(ive had one)--but they arent bolt on.

So--worse comes to worse, ill just have the things welds re-inforced to strengthen it if need be.

holler at ya and let you know how it goes.

Some (Honda) people braced, added support bars to that manifold and got like a year out of it before it cracks.

the KA manifold is nothing like the honda stuff (unless they've been revised). WDRacing purchased one, and even though they sent him the wrong manifold, he said the welds and materials were very good quality. i don't think he had anything negative to say about it. i almost purchased one a few weeks ago, but then the announcement of the AEM EMS came around, so all my pennies are being saved up for it.

keep us updated on how it goes.

the problem with the autochrome is that it is made from a very thin material, at least the ones I've seen were. looked more like exhaust tubing.

well yeah, that’s why the price is so low, not many people are willing to pay $700+ for a super high quality mani

I imagine most of the stress would be from hanging the exaust/intake system on it. Try supporting a flexible downpipe and the front part of the exaust with brackets to the chassis. Support the intake piping also. Remember that the engine moves while the chassis does not, so some flexibility will have to be designed in. I would be willing to bet it would last quite long if it only had to support the weight of the turbo.
