My light stays on, its been doing that for awhile. I had an appointment to get the light fixed and my passenger airbag fixed. I blew off the appointment like 6 months ago, whoops.smithersbpr wrote:But anyways my brake light has kinda been coming on for 30secs and then going off about once every couple days.

I totally agree bc i mean if we get into an accident and she gets hurt ima be suing the s*** outa themChiLLaXtodaMaX wrote:yea...about this airbag thing...when my gf sits there, it turns off when she falls asleep. The dealer also said because she wasnt "sitting right". They replaced it with the 2009 version, which supposedly has a better sensor...but still doesn't work correctly. This is a HUGE issue, as we drive on the highway every week...and this crap happens.
How do we escalate this to Nissan corporate?
well see i thought mine was the same issue. but if it is an issue with the ebrake then the little caution light on your dash will also come on and your message board will tell you that its the ebrake. just try pulling up the ebrake a little and you will see what i mean.dldjros69 wrote:

I think my e brake is messed up, not the issue you are having.
if this is true can you let us know more about the airbag issue? i was told that there is a campaign out on it also and that they are replacing the sensors in the passenger seat. my nissan dealer is doing mine for me cause mine has issues when my gf is in the seat. sometimes it stays on and sometimes it turns off.CPS wrote:We have never replaced a master cylinder in a coupe at our dealership since the car has been released. We've done a couple on sedans, but never a coupe. If this is going to become a recall, then I have no knowledge of it and I am usually one of the first ones to know since I deal directly with the technicians and they notify me immediately of any new recall parts.
Not exactly true - I had to take my car to the dealer for the brake light problem - originally the e-brake light would just stay on, then at one point after this the "VDC off" and "slip" lights would come on simultaneously and stay on. It all starts with the brake light coming on while driving. First thing to do if this happens is to check your brake fluid. More than likely, it's low. Fill it if you can or take it to the dealer.smithersbpr wrote:

I thought the same exact thing about mine
tell me how it goes and who you go to bc im sick of this s***....losenone wrote:Now that you mention that, I have actually noticed it go off a few times where it really shouldnt have.
Now i have 2 things to b**** to them about that they will say cant be duplicated. Im just gonna bring my pile of service records from them and print out some recalls and see how that goes.
k but think about this. our cars are maybe a year old. it should not be getting that low on brakefluid already. unless you did your brakes and spilled some fluid. The leak i had was not visible to the eye nor did it leak onto the ground. i got my car back today and they are saying that it leaked out of the master cylinder and into the brake booster so thats why i never knew.Mr_Coupe wrote:i had the same problem it kept coming on and off however it was because the brake fluid was low. all i did was put more brake fluid in and the light came off
thats retarted wow they are screwed if anyone gets hurtsmithersbpr wrote:
AIR BAG PROBLEM....... i talked to nissan today and they informed me that there is not a problem. nissan has set the airbag to turn on at around 100-140lbs is the gap. so if you dont weigh what ever yours is set at then it wont come on. Its a bunch of BS if you ask me and i think could cause ALOT of problems for nissan in court if someone 120lbs died in an accident cause the airbag didnt deploy.
last i learned it was for the main airbag. incase of there being a child under a certain weight, it will turn off so it does not deploy and break the kids face, neck, etc. in an accident. the only reason it turns off when you are leaning to the side is because all of your weight is no longer being put on the sensor so it thinks you are something smaller.Boilermaker318 wrote:I went in to have mine checked thinking I was part of the recall. The dealer informed me that the light goes on and off because of how the passenger is sitting in the seat. If it thinks you are leaning toward the window it turns off because your head would be on it. The front passenger airbag would activate no matter what.
Correct, circle gets the squareFerguson wrote:Uhhh... no, it refers to the front air bag on the passenger side. The side air bags will go off in any impact severe enough to trigger them.
Read the manual, starting at page 1-50.
will do. i see you found my facebook request sirPhEnoM78 wrote:
