A Jag was racing a BWM; Jag lost to a volvo. Tragic ending.

That is horrible...

All the bad things aside, I'm glad the baby came out alright...

i'm very close to that area... last week, a moron driving an eclipse wanted to "race" me in that same route going to ramona.. i just stepped on my brakes, grinded my teeth and turned up the music.. well, that and my wife yelling at me " dont do it" while grabbing my puppy convinced me to just let it slide .. i knew anyway that i can outrun that eclipse anytime, so it's all good..

If you don't know how to handle your car at those speeds don't try them.

Well that on top of public roads really aren't a place for such things. I'm not going to lie I've had my share of street racing but it's been on dead end deserted roads and such.

Any idea if they caught the white BMW driver? How old were the drivers?

It's one thing if they do something to themselves but when somebody not even involved in the 'race' ends up the tragedy...no words for that.

the driver of the jag was 47... and they haven't caught the other driver... it's going to be tough without a plate #... they don't even know if it's a coupe or not... but then again how many white bmw's are there? hope they get the coward though... and i'm keeping my eyes open for an aggressive white bmw..

I bet they "thought" they knew had to drive at those speeds. I bet they also did this 1000 times before. I bet they ONLY do it when no one is around too.

We have a new track that opened recently and will have 'Street Racing Events'.....kind of wish they named it something else like Open Track Night...But, we've had our share of high speed wrecks due to street racing, so Hopefully, the track will make the streets around here safer.

there are probably 500 white bmws that it could be...

What a horrible story. I can't believe the 3 mo old survived! I'd hate to live with something like that on my conscience.

If they even caught the guy in the bmw, what more would he get besides the whole nine yards for racing and excessive speeds, considering it wasn't his car that hit the woman.

Agreed...and it would just be the Jag's word that they were even racing I would imagine...without someone there to clock them, the BMW driver could lie his way out very easily.

Just stupid...

Would be interesting if you could be pinned as an accessory to vehicular manslaughter.
