Les Schwab Tire Center does offer FREE road hazard warranty, good for the tread life of the tire. No time or mileage limit on warranty, use it as many times as necessary, it never runs out until your tires wear out. However, vandalism is not covered.
Many vandalized tires are replaced under the road hazard warranty, no questions asked. A deviation from the written policy, but we're not here to d*** you out of your money, we want you as a loyal customer, and we're not about to ruin our reputation/p1ss you off over ONE passenger car tire.
It's fairly easy to spot a vandalized tire, even though most people won't tell you how it happened, as they know it isn't covered under warranty. This isn't too great a concern for us, because the company as a whole gets X amount of "credit" in advance(on a monthly scale) to cover the cost of replacing ruined tires free of charge to the customer. Tire companies know that eventually, some tires go bad/people have a bad day... and to make customers happy, we eat the cost of some tires here and there.
Bottom line: Discount charges you for what we give you for free, and on top of that, Discount's "warranty" must be renewed after you use it, costing you MORE money. Then, after X amount of time, the Discount warranty EXPIRES!!! Forcing another renewal, costing you even more money.
Les Schwab offers free road hazard, rotation, rebalance, warranty with the purchase of your tires, good for the tread life of the tires, no renewal or hidden fees, no stupid "disposal" fee, etc. If you opt for the Road Force balance....hitman, get this...you pay the first time, then every visit thereafter is free of charge. You can come in every week if you want. We don't care, because we understand that you don't sell a guy one set of tires. You sell him five sets, over several years.
Edit time: OK, that was a bit off topic. Here's the deal. The warranty states that vandalism is not covered, but manufacture defects/installation snafu is covered. We usually work to please everybody that comes in the door, so in most instances, we tend to overlook the fine print and just take care of the customer. Discount I don't know if they cover vandals, but the smart money says hell no.
