another start/stop annoyance

The warmer weather has made the start/stop 'feature' in my car more active one behavior has become really annoying. I pull into the garage and the engine stops, only to start again when I put the transmission in park. It should be smart enough to wait if I'm in park until I release the brake before re-starting so I have an opportunity to turn the car off.

Nope. The system runs the engine at all times when you're not in gear, that's just how most S-S software is configured.

I agree, the most annoying part of the ss. It's been doing this from day one when I park in the garage, it's a ridiculous race to get the engine to stay off. It's actually dangerous. In the right situation, it will lurch forward on you. I've finally learned to kill the engine as soon as I get in the garage vs putting it in park first and setting the ebrake. As soon as you kill the engine it puts it in park, quicker than I can. You only have 3 seconds unless you remember to keep wiggling the steering wheel. It did this dance with me one day at a store and I came out and it was still running. I've paid a lot closer attention so that hasn't happened again.
